I’m new to dpsing and i’m having a blast with BM hunter.
Honestly, i thought it was a boring spec, but after learning how to optimize focus management, i’m having a lot of fun.
I digged in wowhead and icy veins guides and they both advise to use macros for cobra shot, kill command, barbed shot, multishot
*So i’ve been using these macros : * #showtooltip Kill Command /petattack /cast Kill Command /cast Claw /cast Bite /cast Smack
For my spells.
But when i play i feel like when i press buttons, there is a lag behind. I don’t usually spam my buttons close to the end of the GCD, because my muscle memory is good enough to use 1 or 2 presses. But with this kind of “lag” that i feel, i fear of missing some inputs.
Is it normal because the macro demands more ressources to the game ? Could it be because i’m using ElvUI as well ?
Thank you for your insight on the subject
Oh and btw - am i really loosing a lot if i’m not using exotic beasts as BM ? (I mean i love my spirit griffons but i need to constantly heal them in solo), and i love feathermanes but it might be suboptimal (i know clefthooves are good but i don’t really like the design for example)
using almost same macro, have petattack last instead of first.
no lagg, using elvui also
is it fps spikes or just delay?
there should be option for setting keypress overlap ms setting, like Darkrayne said
setting it to 0 makes u haveto spam it like crazy tho, set it somewhat higher
Well it doesn’t seem to be the game itself since when i’m using the spell without the macro it’s super responsive and i feel like the input is almost instant, which is definitely not the case with the macro ^^
you clearly have no idea what the command actually does since you’re suggesting putting it to 0. seems like you just got pissy and mad that someone called your advice bad when it is indeed factually bad
I’m not pissy. I think people can make up their own mind, trying it takes a couple minutes. I play with 0 lag tolerance and I’m a PvPer. I’m usually top 3 in BGs, often top (as a BM) and am far from an underperforming player. It all depends on your personal internet connection.
That is the general way to use it, yes. Some people like to use it as a way to queue up abilities before the cooldown is finished though so they like to have it at 400ms (which is the game’s default value).
spell queueing (lag tolerance) should never be below your latency. if you for example have 100 latency then you should never put it below 100.
if you put it to 0 then the spell queueing system will be turned off completely and you will suffer dps loss guaranteed (dont let anyone tell you any different)
you should try dpsing on a dummy and see what works best for you, just dont put it at 0 lol
When i meant laggy i meant ping-wise ; my fps are perfectly fine with or without macro
I have tested lag tolerance to 100 ms and it seems more responsive than yesterday
20 ms is my ping but i’m not used to smashing buttons so it didn’t suit me ^^
