Do the "thank you for reporting" mails mean anything?

I always try to report obvious bots whenever I see them, and I have received probably close to a hundred of the “thank you for reporting” mail from “customer support”.

A part of me would like to believe that these mails actually mean something and that reporting bots actually gets them banned sometimes.
But there’s also a bigger part of me that suspects that these are 100% cosmetic client-side processes that just automatically happen after a certain amount of reports, and their purpose is to just get me to maybe pay for another month of sub, and nothing more.

What do you guys think?

The only way to check would be regularly visit the areas where you report bots and remember each name that you have already reported.
In my exprience it seems at least partially successful.
