I do tons of battleground, I try to carry all of them and it work well, win the majority of my BG thanks to S4 and Sunwell gear.
Like lot of players, I do tons of battleground to stockpill mark before the end of TBC, and because I like PvP. Even if I’m a bit tired to farm 400 mark on 3 characters, nobody force me.
The point is lot of battlegrounds played in short period of time mean I’m more subject to being report to much and up banned. I’m not AFK’ing, but you don’t really know what others people do. I saw lot of battlegrounds where people asked to report others just because they were AFK 10s at the start, probably alt-tabbing and doing something else for a very short period of time that doesn’t impact the result of the battleground. Sometime their complain are valid, and some people abuse to much we all know that especially in AB and EOS since it can take a long time to score a win/lose.
What is the Blizzard stance about people that do lot of battlegrounds ? Is the amount of report from being banned static (meaning that after a threeshold you are banned), or is it something dynamic that adapt with the amount of battlegrounds you play and the amount of battlegrounds you play without being reported ?
Maybe I’m overthinking, but imagine being banned 6 month once WOTLK prepatch hit. It would be horrible for anyone.
I played a lot of BGs (mostly WSG/AB) in big chunks. Whenever I judged bg to be doomed there is a possibility that I spent too much time defending places that possibly didn’t need extra attention and never had an issue. I really think that you need to be agresively afk in all battlegrounds from the second gates open to get banned, you probably run into more risk by telling people to AFK in the chat to be honest.
If you are as involved as you claim you are, I doubt the other players would report you on a regular basis.
Even if they did, Blizzard (or a gamemaster) can quickly look at your numbers and rewoke a possible wrongful ban.
Who would report the player trying when at the same time a random AFK Rogue thinks stealth removes him from the minimap? ^^
Given how hard it can sometimes be to get reports to go through on players who are actually AFK, I wouldn’t be worried about it if you’re not actually AFK.
What I do know for sure is that I was banned for a week from the game because in an Alterac Valley I captured a graveyard.
Several people who were premade reported me.
The blizzard agent did NOT want to investigate and copied/pasted the standard response that they send to everyone.
The same with spam and other similar things.
But hey!! They dont ban GDKP spam because they give many subs to them (money money)
They have a SIEM implemented which, based on certain thresholds, various actions are AUTOMATICALLY activated without anyone investigating them.
It’s the biggest **** Blizzard has rolled out in recent years.
LichKing Classic will be my last expansion. As soon as I’m about to finish I plan to say everything that comes to my mind in the forums, in-game chats, BGs, etc.
And if I get permanently banned by then I don’t give a *****.
This is the feeling that Blizzard has managed to awaken in me after more than 14 years playing Warcraft.
I really never get reported, and I do a lot of BG, loads.
In fact BG is what I truly enjoy in the game and I just do arena to get gear for it.
Even if you are a rogue standing super still near a flag in AB, you can regularly report: GM still clear! or anything like that.
This stops people from reporting you and even being worried about you maybe being afk or so.
My feeling is that people who are ‘worried’ about getting a ban are also the ones who really seek to exploit the system. Play normal and you never even get reported for AFK.
Not true.
Some people in premade they report to you because you DONT play like they want to.
AB → I usually go to LM because most ot times are a free cap.
"Report xxxxx! He didnt went to BS like we said!! "
And they give a mass report to you because you dont play like they want to.
This … I got banned for “exploitation/non participation” in bgs and when I tried appeal I got literally just copypasted the original message and added to it was “This matter is now considered resolved and you cant appeal again”
If only they were so effective at banning bots and cheaters and people who actually use exploits in the game …
The first response is a automated message that dont even need to have anything to do with the issue you sent a ticked for. Probably to save money on not having to deal with non issues that people send in all the time.
Once you have calmed down from the frustration of the horrible response you got, there should be a button to get someone else to take a look at your ticket, when that get answered, it is usually done by a reasonable human.
I’m highly dubious there’s any kind of auto ban based on mass reporting.
I’ve seen people spamming racial slurs in public channels getting mass reported to no effect, and I’ve been falsely mass reported by salty members of the opposite faction to no effect.
In S2 I reatched Level 70 and begun to farm honor + marks, I did lots of bgs.
I played the game and enjoyed the exp. with other players doing PVP.
Also learned to call incs and so on.
Few days later I got banned for 8 or 10 days for no reason.
As I contacted the support, they told me, that I were afk in the bgs and that they checked the logs.
I think getting reported from a few players triggers an autobann. So staying in the same area for a couple of minutes is normal an. their system don‘t consides that carrying flags or saving bases is a part of the game.
