Do you guys use the Curseforge app? (the one from their site, that comes with Overwolf)

i don’t use addons cuz i think they are kinda useless XD

I only use the app once each week and close the app when I’m finished. My broadband is so slow it barely has any time to load any ads and so far I haven’t had any problems.

I haven’t had any issues with curseforge client, and it runs smoothly aswell

Not sure about downsides, but works all fine for me! Quick and easy to use this far, but needs Overwolf to run in the background. Not sure why… maybe an incorrect version?

There’s a standalone version without Overwolf. If you want: On app download page, scroll down to CurseForge download options and select CurseForge Standalone (Alpha) from the drop down menu.

I used Curseforge both before and after the changes. In both cases I just ran it once a day in the morning to update and then closed it again. It didn’t do anything nasty to my PC. I was wary because there was huge hysteria when OW bought Curseforge and has acquired a bad reputation.

It is nicer as the standalone app. Overwolf really served no purpose so it was good to see it go. It was just bloat, just like Twitch app was bloat as well.

Thanks, looks like I DL’ed the wrong one. Will double check at home though!

It’s a bit sneaky so you go to Curseforge

Then choose ‘More Download Options’ which will take you to

Then on the drop down menu there will be the option for ‘Curseforge Standalone’

You’re right, it’s indeed sneaky - think I just popped the very first DL button here (so didn’t check the More Options window).

Thanks Puny! :two_hearts:
