I create a secondary chat window for public channels (minus the Trade Services). That way my main chat is just for…well, chat. And then I can click on the other window if I want to see any of the public channels.
It works.
Like most have said already, General is the only one I keep.
Trade and Services are binned off immediately; they are useless. I have no idea how anyone can parse the sheer volume of excrement in there without using an add-on. I’d much prefer a trade/services advertisement window like the LFG function.

3 Months that i restarted i only saw
/2 trade spambots
and
/1 General Zero Archiev History of anyone spamming or writing anything in General channel.
At some point’s other than the Lf Tool , WoW is right now more a Single player mode than MMorpg .
Yes, I copy/paste the chat settings file from my main before logging in with new characters.
I never used to however the past few months whichever ones are channels 4 and 5 - those now get purged!
It still happens sometimes in normal WoW and I’ve noticed it more in Remix as well.
