I leave channel 5 [Services], the addon “BadBoy” does a great job filtering out crap in Trade chat… and I’m always in General chat for for when people talk or ask for help or call out a rare spawn, going for war supply drop, etc. (See no reason not to be in it).
Ah yeah, i dont leave general chat. Mostly the services chat that is spammy so that goes away at least, but usually i just click away trade aswell (and my old chars left trade many years ago).

Always leave everything but general chat but in raids I leave that one as well as its often distracting.
I only leave trade and trade services. I stay in general chat.

I always leave the services channel on every character. On my main I have trade filtered to it’s own tab away from other chat, on alts I just leave the trade channel.
I stay in general though. I don’t see much chat in that these days, mostly people asking for help with a quest or something, which I’ll always help if I can.

Only trade services. This boost spam literally aggrivates me. And I don’t understand how any person would actually use those services.

My servers trade/general is dead so i keep them open, services are completely filled with spambots so that gets deleted immediately.

I dont know if its a realm thing or a layer thing, not really sure how chats work with crossrealm zoning, but on my low/mid pop realm i hardly ever see any activity in general or trade chats, so they dont bother me at all. I made a character on high pop Silvermoon once though, and the chat was moving so fast you couldn’t even read it, deffinitly had to leave the channels there.
Trade chat should be realm specific, same with services.
Insta leave Services and Trade. For both should they should just create a search option (like guild finder) instead of the same 10 people spamming their macro’s every 5 seconds.
When i try and craft myself an item i join trade, post “LF crafter X item X ilvl” and leave trade again to wait on 20 people whispering their price and pick the best one
Players still do this as I have not seen this in so many years at least not since nearly every “rare” is solo-able.
I do however see in Trade channel WTS (insert rare name) has spawned and drops a mount selling for 100k for the kill. I am often flawed by this as what is to stop 1000 people flying to x and killing it anyway.
