Do you miss the command table?

Yes I miss. It is one of those unpopular things to defend around here. But it definitely had its bonuses.

If they actually gave the open world a purpose and made something amazing, sure remove the table. We have an expansion where the open world does not matter and you don´t even have a mission table.

Why was mission table good for casuals? Well it made leveling matter. It literally gave an incentive to level an entire alt army to print money. This gave casuals something to do. In Legion it also gave casuals an incentive to level an alt army to get rep and get the rare rep rewards. Same thing in BFA.

It also gave an incentive to do world content to keep this money printing operation alive. Again, with the removal of mission table now there is less incentive than ever to do the open world.

Removal of mission table was just another way to screw casuals. What did they replace it with? Professions that only benefit WoW goblins who abused the system right away? Yeah not good enough.

We clicked once a day those missions and then played the game. What makes you think we were exclusively playing the command table? Those missions took a lot of hours. Nobody was waiting next to it till the missions were done.

It’s not something I miss myself. The only time I ever made gold from them was during WoD. The others I’ve just not bothered with.

i miss it a lot. it was such a fun nice minigame outside of playing wow.

tbh i am surprised they didnt go further with this - like pet battle mobile games , mobile games letting you farm resources for your wow account etc.

missed oportunities most likely due to backlash they recieved after announcing DI during blizzcon . shame.

I think the mobile pet battle game never went ahead. From what I recall.

Everyone got free gold from it meaning it just inflated the economy and noone got richer (other than the guy who leveled 10 alts and used the addon to blitz it).

It also added nothing to the MMO aspect of the game nor was it fun.

Not realy, It was pointless system that did not added anything to the game in my opinion. It should have been something like you pick 1-2 mission each day and you can Do them with your character+ you get AI NPCs to acompany you. Would make more sense, and serve as some extra playable content.

Not in the slightest.
I mostly ignored it though. I did it early on for the campaign quests, achievements and pets.

There is a version of this system that could work but they kept making it too convoluted where you had to level and gear your followers, then you had to choose which ones to activate or deactivate Or you needed some currency, some of which weren’t easy to get (Oil for ship yard in WoD comes to mind).

SL’s was somewhat simpler than the others but still needed currency and level took ages (at first certainly).

If this had just been track down and recuit followers and send them on simple missions for some mats and pets etc then it might have been less infuriating.
Yet another fun side activity ruined by currencies, upgrading and lack of account-widiness.

I miss the gold from the WoD iteration of it, but that’s it.

I collected over 10000 polished pet charms only from command table in shadowlands just to buy that one pet. Not sure I would bother doing world quests to collect that many tokens.

So yeah command table had it’s own use. Wasn’t mandatory in game but helpful to get things.

Not at all. It wasn’t really engaging content in any way shape or form.

It was only used by people have an army of alts farming passive gold or pet tokens.

I think it’s removal has been overall positive. However, Blizzard does need to add more sources of gold for players who are not interested in the profession system.

Yes.

I used it as a downtime activity, to the point where at the end of BfA when everything was boring, I went back to Legion and levelled up all my followers there in 3 different order halls. In Shadowlands, I learned how to optimise follower missions and pumped them for gold, herbs, materials, generating so much that I had crafting alts without any gathering to support them because the sum of all tables was enough to cover their needs.

A lot of people have questioned how to make money in DF, and I think that shows that this wasn’t an unpopular approach. I’m pretty frugal, but I seem to have lost about 100k so far this expansion and I genuinely don’t know how to fix that. Yes I have 2.5 mil left, but I’d rather the number was going up not coming down!

And as small as it was, I actually enjoyed levelling the followers up in SL and getting them capable of tougher missions. That particular table iteration was far too complicated, with most of us relying on addons to figure out winning teams because they were more complicated than planning every move in a chess match up front, but the problem was in the mission complexity, not in the concept of having a barn full of followers. I also liked how my WoD followers would tend to wander around my garrison.

Side note; I miss bodyguards from WoD+Legion.

The WoD table was horrendously OP, combined with garrison resources that meant nobody ever had to go out into the world. It was an expansion of poor design decisions and a lack of remedial adjustments, and there’s a reason I played very little of it.

Totally this.
I just bought for 3 chars last week again new sophic devotions, which was about 10k each. Money runs fast with all the consumables. And no gold generaters at all anymore.
Command table gone. Emmisaries gone. Paragon chests gone. The accord quest is not even giving gold anymore. I am bleeding dry.

And it is also hurting character power since we are supposed to get all kinds of crafted 447 gear and embelshments. Any idea how expensive that is… :grimacing:

I feel the same. I also just end up buying wow tokens…

Out of all things, mission table is nothing I want to see again, especially not the shadowlands version of it where your progress does not count for all covenants.

I argued against every iteration of the mission tables since WoD. And I agree that removing them was the right decision. Far too late, but I suppose better than never.

But.

I have to admit, with the empty hellscape of Dragonflight world content, it would at least have given me a reason to log in this expansion.

Let be honest, you are not missing command table. You are missing free loads of gold from it. Would you like playing it if it will give you just achievements and things, which are used for progress of command table itself (some upgrades, etc)? I highly doubt, because command table mechanic in the core is a bad mobile design of “push a button and wait X hours for energy recharge/mission compete/hero come from a mission/whatever excuse”

nah im missing table in itself.

i really nejoyed leveling followers there

its a real shame that WoD table never got mobile app version ,

gold was just minor part of it.

I miss it.

It was pretty much the perfect CEO simulator: I send a bunch of people out to do stuff for me (get gold). Then I take 98% of the gold and give it to myself despite the fact I didn’t actually do anything.

Now I’m still doing nothing but I’m not getting paid.

The gold from the accord mission was moved over to the loam niffen weekly instead.

Doing the researchers event should net you between 500-1000 rep, or in case of low rep alts double that amount.

We also have paragon chests but their payout is pretty low. You are better off doing gold world quests on like 6-10 alts for a decent payout overall.

Doing the races on a single character alone is around 4k gold? There are 8 of them up, so you can do a total of 16 per week.
