Do you personally like WoW's content scene?

Alright so, I have thought about creating content and either streaming or creating videos, since it’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never could get past the anxiety to upload a video. (This is not a plug, I’m getting to my point, sorry)

And when I though about having WoW be my base for a gaming/streaming content I personally thought very quickly that this would be a bad idea, since I’m not interested in being high ranked or making guide videos or anything within that direction.

But this did make me think, with the current trend im seeing on online platforms of meta and guides, are you guys personally happy with the current direction that I see within WoW content on youtube for instance (with a few exceptions ofc) ergo- mostly guides or videos on the current meta or do you like me wish we could go back to days where people would make videos ofr fun sake and love for the game instead of pumping daily uploads for padded time?

I don’t watch any WoW content, or video game content for that matter.
I only watch things like a review or summary of a game to understand what kind of game it is and whether to buy it or not.

Anything else, I will just learn do by actually playing said game.

That’s fair, is there any reason or are you just not really the kind of person to be on youtube or twitc hin oyur off-time?

Pretty much the latter.
My free time is limited enough as it is, so I rather spend it on the things I like to do, such as playing games, D&D and climbing.

Nothing but respect god damn

I don’t watch streams of people playing games, it just doesn’t make any sense to me.
I don’t watch guide videos either with the exception of things like the secret finding stuff. I make it a thing to avoid videos from ‘elite’ players - I don’t want to support them in any way.

The WoW videos I generally watch are WoW news related or lore/content speculation related. And yes; I’m quite happy with what’s on offer in that range. I watch SoulSoBreezy, Taliesin & Evitel, MrGM and Bellular for those kinds of videos.

In the past I did like the exploration type videos with someone getting into areas they aren’t supposed to get into, but there’s not much of that anymore and I guess I’m not that interested in it anymore. WoW is pretty niche as a content creator, honestly.

The sort of people that appear to come to prominence within it aren’t people who should be listened to (or seemingly decent people generally honestly) so I don’t like the scene and generally avoid it.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough experience, do you have an example since i seemlingly cant think of what you could be referencing?

I avoid videos from anyone connected to the world first guilds and such.
Or those who focus on PvP.

Those are the kind of people I can’t stand and their opinions don’t mean anything to me personally.

But Xulzana could be talking about completely different types of content creators of course.

I’m not really happy with it, no. I used to watch, but none in the current batch … idk, something about them makes me not like them.

Taliesin and Evitel used to be good, but now they’re not. Maybe my view of them darkened after I saw Taliesin’s twitch streams. Nasty guy. Nobbel’s videos remain great but I don’t like the story or lore anymore ever since Shadowlands. I don’t like MrGM, I don’t like Soul, I used to like Preach but he started boring me a little idk why. Hazel’s speech cadence annoys me because she reminds me of Q’s Greenland’s speech cadence and she’s become a serious torn in my side for more personal reasons.

So right now I have to say I’m not too impressed. I’m not sure it’s them though, it might be me. Not really sure.

Who else is there? Maybe some of you know someone I didn’t mention but might like?

I also agree to that, personally I find meta content ot be insanely boring ot the point of sleepiness. And WoW doesnt have alot of not that imo(with exception) so I actually tend to not watch alot of it.

i miss the content where you expressed your love with the game and the focus was just spreading positivity and joy.

Negativity gets the views unfortunately.

Unfortunately, but i will do my best to prove that the opposite is also possible

I like lore, Skits and just general ”Talking” about WoW.

But Gameplay, Arena, Raid and whatever else i could not care less about.

It is possible, but I’m not sure it works for WoW’s playerbase.
For instance: I also watch Lego related content on YouTube and that tends to be positive overal - it’s a friendly, chill community for the most part.

I personally like to read news of WoW things relevant for my gameplay.

For videos and streams etc. I love watching people discussing my class, rogue, from theory crafting perspective, reviews of changes, how-to videos and so on.

Recently I started to attend SkillCapped academy for WoW, and it is the best content I have ever seen regarding this game in 20 years I am playing it, across servers, accounts and so on.

Funny enough I chose league to start off with, currently doing a stream where I play ranked and am not allowed to tilt or rage so it positivity with humor.

It’s been working decently and I hope I can make an impact on the comminity, or atleast make my own so I can have a place to play where it’s actually fun

Good luck to you.
Like I said; I have zero interest in watching others play games. But I hope it works out for you. Spreading positivity in such a scene can only be a good thing.

Wanna hear something sad? I’ve actually had a more genuinely positive experience with them then my average wow mythic+ climbing experience, IN LEAGU!?!

PUG-ed then, I take it?
If so, then that doesn’t surprise me with M+'s current PUG atmosphere.

If you’d get a steady crew for that, I bet the experience would be completely different. Maybe that’s the way to approach it?
