Do you think they will surprise us and really shake it up next expansion?

Feels like things are a bit stagnant and the game needs a bit of an overhaul. Do you think they will shake things up?

No, not really.
Unless you consider stuff like player housing, shaking things up, of course.

With the introduction of the Tinker class!

I doubt it. The big TWW shaker has been Delves. I’m guessing this will remain the big thing for this expansion. Housing should be for Midnight, I have difficulty imagining they will revamp something else entirely besides that no doubt colossal undertaking. I could be wrong obviously

One of the things I like about WoW is that the format is something that appeals to me. Though we see them experiment with various things over the year, artifact weapons, heart of azeroth, talent trees simplified then expanded again, hero talents, corruption, removed tier sets, added tier back etc etc.

I’m not really sure what you feel needs to be shaken up. What is it that you’ve grown bored of or find is stagnant?

When people say this what are you really expecting? its an mmo its gonna follow a general formula and if for example you dont update m+ or raiding or dont add outdoor content, you gonna piss people off

I think they already do shake things up more than most MMO’s do. WoW is doing much more to keep things fresh without going too far off of the rails than the likes of TESO and FFXIV are doing.

The latter, especially, drove me away due to the pitiful portions of new content and the jarring shift in aesthetics and tone.

WoW’s focus on making more content evergreen will help a lot moving forward.

I think they shake things up every expack. BfA had the faction assaults, SL had covenants and DF had Dragon riding. TWW has delves and Midnight will have player housing. Of course, not all players will enjoy all of these - if you disliked all of the features above and purely do, say, M+ I expect the game would feel much more samey.

I hope there will be more stuff to do, like real grind to do. Similar how we used to have artifact systems or bfa systems. I complained back then about grind (kind of), but I realized now that game feels stagnant without these stuff. I also hope they do something with raw material grinding (skinning specifically), I don’t like grouping up and AOE-ing mobs in one spot. I don’t like that I need to group up, I would much prefer to do my own routes and turn on PvP and gank people.

Should add 2 professions too like Woodcutting & Construction to spice up the house even more!

They focus on making evergreen content? Thats news to me.

Compare it to something like GW2 and you realise that wow isn’t good at making everygreen content. Even FF14 (as bad a game as it is) allows you to farm old instances on repeat and alone, where as wow restricts you to once per week which in reality is terrible.

Nah, blizzard are quire conservative with changes. Any big changes they could really upset a chunk of the player base. It’s taken then 11 expansiona to finally give us housing. No, Warlords doesn’t count.

A big shake was khadgar dying, then it felt that actions have concequences and plot armor doesnt exist, then they brought him back and kinda felt that the lore is not too brutal anymore

highly unlikely - seeing how they this expansion is compelte failure just like DF its extremly unlikely midnight will get any better

untill Ion is fired - nothign will realisticaly change in core of game which is beyond rotten at this point.

there is a reason why so many people prefer to just play different versions of classic and why retail participation plummeted .

They have already killed major characters in the past.
But also; if you didn’t see ‘Khadgar not really being dead’ coming from a mile away, I don’t know what to tell you, man.

First rule of cinema. If you didn’t see them die and there’s no body, chances are they’re alive.

Maybe it’s copium or hopium , all depends on your preffered gas of choice to inhale.

But people I spoke to and including myself. I got a feeling midnite will the Legion 2.0 of WoW. All the laurels and resources going to be thrown at it. I think it will be the biggest expansion out of this trilogy.

Also it’s an elf expansion and the most played races are elves. People will be happy.

The thing is housing , collectibles are great. But it’s not what keep the hardcore playing.
The hardcore are the players who stay even if the expansion is seen as bad. As long as the raids are fun and the m+ season is good. They’re happy.

Casuals come and leave constantly. The hardcore stay.

I think one of the best thing they could announce is 10 man mythic is back. Mythic has slowly been drying up. I speak to mythic raiders telling me there’s no much choice in guilds. When they join a guild , they meet the same players over and over. Next thing about mythic raiding is very little new blood. Most mythic raiders are in their 30s. They are vet wow players. One mythic raider told me they haven’t seen anyone under the age of 25 applying in 3 years.

I think mythic needs a broader appeal , 10 man is easier to set up.
Mythic + is where those player go to get their mythic fix. Be cool to sway some of those player to hit mythic raiding.

I do think we will see a new class. I mean Blizz already put out that survey with 20 potentiel new classes , some only have 1 spec.

I would love to see convenants 2.0 , but no power gains from it purely lore and cosmetical. As much as people hated on Shadowlands. It was nice having 4 covenants to get stuff from.

Heck i even miss having a command table , sometimes i got 10 mins to log in a day.

All these ideas aren’t new , they’ve been done before. Why not bring QoL things back.

Would 10 man mythic raiding hurt the 20 man guilds ? Sure but I think it would widen the player pool alot. Make Hall of fame fill up faster so we can cross server pug it sooner.

I like to pvp , be nice to see pvp set look different from tier sets again. Last time pvpers had their own gladiator sets was Wod ? After that we just looked like raiders with a different color.

I think that any big shake-ups will be after the Void-trilogy, going into a literal new chapter of the “Warcraft”-story would be the best time for major changes to narrative or gameplay structure.

I do believe Tinker class is on the agenda.

Especially following up this Undermine big patch, new class typically added every other expansion. :+1:
