Do you use a UI Revamp Addon?

Hey everyone, just curious how many of you here use a UI revamp addon like ELVUI / LUI etc

If so what do you use and why do you prefer the one you using over the others!

Additionally, my friend started playing WoW recently and the only thing that puts him off a bit is the old looking UI.
Any recommendations for a cleaner, specifically more MODERN UI is welcomed.

I’m using ElvUI, because I like how it looks, and that plenty of stuff in there is customisable. I do change a lot about it, so it doesn’t really look anything like it does by default: https://i.imgur.com/6Mwu63Y.jpg

The main reason I use it is because it is an UI revamp, changes all the backgrounds and borders and whatnot, which I find pleasing. At the same time, it provides me enough rope to tweak it to my liking.

ElvUI + WAs is a pretty darn nice base to build on.

I really don’t like ElvUI, visually don’t like how it looks with them sharp edged corners… reminds me of old Windows 3.x. :stuck_out_tongue:

Instead I use Bartender with Z-Perl along with TidyPlates [and QuestPlates], Sexymap and Titan Panel.

The developers should really do something to update the look of the default UI, when you look at it it does look a bit tired amongst the others like ElvUI etc.

ElvUI to make things look modern, although using mainly Plater and Weakauras for other changes.

I hate Elvui. I personally use a combination of Bartender, ThreatPlates and Sexymap. Currently I’m still using the standard unit frames, but I might tweak that with SUF or smtn soon. I think standard unit frames are pretty ok though unless you want to customize it specifically.

I like and use Shadowed Unit Frames. Started using it before the default UI became movable (prefer to have everything in the bottom of the screen) and now I am simply used to it. Clean, simple, adjustable, never really bugs out and moreover; it doesn’t do too much.

Then Bartender to make the action bars more compact.

Default Raid Frames for raids as well as parties.

And Threat Plates for more adjustable Nameplates.

I’m actually okay with most of the default ui (menus, frames, action bars). I just hate the default unit frames.

But honestly I don’t think Blizzard should put work into creating better unitframes. There’s plenty of addons that have perfected their unitframes over years and as others mentioned those are highly customizable. Plus it would alienate the people like the current default unitframes. It would just be a waste of money honestly.

I agree so much with this. I hate it when a single addon does everything. I get that this is a nice quality of life feature for some people. But I usually just want to change one thing and don’t want to dig through 20+ menus to disable everything else.

Currently using ElvUI but will probably go back to default with bartender after a while. I’ve tried it before and went back to vanilla but i decided to give it another go yesterday and I’m 50/50. I like the clean look of it but there’s just an absolute ton of settings and i like to keep it simple. I’m just used to the default UI way more and know where everything is ect and i love the design of the action bar. I really don’t like anything else.

Using elvui because it’s easy and fast to setup and customize. I turn it off when I pvp though.

No, default ui is good enough for me.

I use Bartender, z-perl, sexymap, WAs, kui nameplates and quartz cast bars. I mainly dislike how in the default UI every UI element is far from eachother and glued to the edges so I have to spend more time running across the screen with my eyes. I put HP bars, cast bars and cooldown WAs just below the screen center. This way I can focus more on encounters. A tip: you can use MoveAnything to move blizz UI elements anywhere you like, it is helpful too.

I use elvui. Its just too handy to have everything xontrolled by 1 addon thats super customizable.

I mostly just use it for action bars name plates and party ui tho. I turn off the elvui skin on all the windows because default elvui looks awful

ElvUI with WA and plater

I can tweak all of it to my liking for the content I do

Nah

I use ElvUI for micromanaging my action buttons - all 120 of them. Now they nicely fills up the bottom of the screen. And I really appreciate the split chat with one window on each side for different channels and inputs.
