I look at the state of every class and everybody has like 4-5 gap closers or 4-5 gap openers and i cannot get my head around that this is the main reason wow is garbage because nothing has down time

Things started going downhill when they added “charges” to spells.
The issue is that, while it creates unhealthy designs for PvP, there is no denying that it’s fun and that you’d feel like something is missing if your Monk only had one Chi Torpedo, and your Warrior a single Charge.
My take is that they should removed “charges” of mobility spells, and add maybe one new ~1mn CD mobility spell to somewhat compensate.
Since Vanilla, Warrior has 2 charges. It was a different spell (Intercept) but we had 2 since the beginning.
From my POV, dampening is the biggest issue that should be looked at. If a Healer can sustain for hours without dampening, it means there is something wrong with mana management.
Removing gap closer & opener, will create too much problems in terms of balancing and mainly it will impact Pve which is a showstopper for blizzard.
Charge couldn’t be used in combat
Intercept required a rage dump when they swapped stance
Now Warriors have
2 Charges that have a root & damage component
Heroic Leap with a sprint component
2 Burst that remove roots (avatar / bladestorm)
Banner
Ranged stun
it’s excessive as hell

choice node between Bladestorm and Avatar. Bladestorm should make you immune to CC but not slows, and avatar should remove slots… choice nodes people!
I’d completely agree with you if warriors would get 50% all damage reduction then as well, otherwise the class would go from currently B/C Tier to not-a-tier-because-complete-trash
If you start to remove gap closer & immunity in 1 class, you have to look at the whole picture. Your list here for War, would mean everybody else receive the same treatment, for example Hunter:
No binding Shot
No pathfinder
Wailing Arrow only for 1 spec
Intimidation same treatment
etc…
At the end of the day, you can play Vanilla wow & you will have the same result.
I will say it once more, removing mobility is a direct impact on Pve & won’t happen. The only skills that could get removed are the Pvp “choice” which are already limited.
Personally I don’t think that mobility is that much of an issue, its just that mages are completely overtuned in that regard and maybe hunter.
For the control they already have, they got way too much mobility. Alter Time shouldn’t port them back, they don’t need a knock back and displacement should also be removed. Hunter are also too mobile when playing with a pala. Not to an extend of a mage, but still!
Also warriors feel somehow a bit too much. Not the charges etc. but the talent that roots their target when they charge!
That was only up to TBC. You are literally reaching for an outdated mechanic changed over 15 years ago. Double Charge is fine for warriors, because all casters also have multiple escapes on top of roots which create a gap that is countered only by charging again, nothing else.
Such a cool story bro now imagine with all that mobility you will still never touch anyone who is decent at his class for more than 1 global. There is this thing called slows and roots they are usually baked into passives and zero effort spells nowdays also every class having freedom for no reason (lock port). So basicly even if you had 10 stacks of charge pretty sure your uptime would be just as miserable since every class is immune to slows and roots. By the time you finish charging, your target is already 30 yards away. Immo charge should stun again own dr category. If you tank warrior cds or struggle as any class other than sp you just suck.
But people complaining is acceptable after all only few people left playing the game are Shadowlands / Shuffle experts.
In order to fix you would have to rework every class and also delete mage very important.
or u just need to be clever with ur mobility toolkit and nobody will ever be able to get away from u
like in example with the warlock’s “freedom” u just leap(which has the same cd as a teleport) and stormbolt it, also its purgeable
dont wanna explain any more because others might read it an use it against me but at higher ratings a warlock will never be able to break distance with a warri simply because warrior’s mobility toolkit is superior

Ive heard Impish Instinct is pretty OP against melees and you have 50% movement speed + Immune to snare and roots for 6 sec if you use Soulburn which you normally do x)
