Does anyone like this goofy stuff

I think as a goblin patch it is well done. I don’t hate it, but it’s just not to my taste. I prefer open world, a sense of spaciousness, nature… this is quite the opposite :wink: I’m happy for everyone who loves it, it is definitely very flavourful.

No you are not, most players are just getting on with it. As usual it’s mostly the vocal minority flapping lips on the forums.

ah these threads are back. ofc :joy: :man_facepalming:

Hate it.
A bunch of rng,grind…
I really like the raid, but nothing else.
Paragon chests, Miscellaneous Mechanica aka new curious coin(another piece of crap with rare drop).

I thought I would hate it, but I actually really like Undermine. It is really well made and it is exactly what it is supposed to be.

I never really cared for goblins, but here I find them quite charming, and one called me dollface. :kissing_closed_eyes:

I initially wasn’t fussed but it grew on me.

I personally find the zone to be one of the most visually interesting in the entire game. However, the content itself feels quite hollow. It’s essentially a recycled version of previous zones with little innovation. The rare chests drop nothing noteworthy, and the rare mobs are just regular enemies with more HP. It all feels a bit lazy, and it’s hard to understand why the entire zone is filled with so-called “rares” and chests when 99% of them offer no real rewards.

Where’s the substance? I resubbed a few days ago, but I was already ready to log off after just one day.

See you next patch, I guess. Lol.

Zone is great, some people just have no sense of humour. One of the the things that sucked me into the game years ago was the daft sense of humour the game had, and I have been missing it for a while. DF was so earnest it was like a US teen soap opera.

THis, all of it.

Seriously, guys, lighten up. You´re playing a freaking fantasy RPG with cartoon graphics and random slapstick moments that is notorious for not taking itsellf anywhere near as seriously as it´s players do.

Some people here act like their next job promotion is pivoting on whether or not the next WoW patch will be “serious enough” :rofl:

Don´t like undermine? Then do something else ffs, (I assume) nobody has a gun to your head screaming play undermine, NOW!! . :beers:

This, I saw some people here literally call it a “dark fantasy” game in the past, like what the hell?

I mostly find myself drawn to WoW when it leans into the big apocalyptic, world-shattering, cosmic ragnarok craziness. You know, like the shoulderpads and the weapons and the muscles and everything else in WoW is big and extravagant, so is the setting and the fantasy also best when it’s overblown and huge.
I think that’s when WoW gets exciting to play and it becomes spectacular to engage in the story and the gameplay, and you get something memorable that you don’t get elsewhere.

There’s always a build-up of course. From zero to hero and Elwynn Forest to Argus, but the balance is important. And lately Blizzard haven’t really succeeded with the crescendo, so to speak. N’zoth was, well, N’zoth. Zereth Mortis was mostly weird. The Jailer fell flat. The Emerald Dream was underwhelming and Fyrakk was a bit of a dud.
So Blizzard kind of needs to come out with an Argus and Sargeras moment soon, because we’ve kind of been dabbling around with fairly mediocre themes and stories and characters for quite a while now. And throwing goofy Goblins in with their mostly irrelevant storylines and filler content and pop culture references galore, that’s not really what I’m in the mood for right now in WoW.
It’s a build-up of course. The World Soul Saga and all that. But it’s been a pretty tame WoW experience for quite a while now, as far as fantasy fiction is concerned.

As far as the Goblins are concerned, then I have no appetite for Undermine. I think a problem WoW has is that it doesn’t differentiate its races very much. I mean, the Goblins are from all over the world and there are different cartels and what not. But really, they all look alike and they’re all from New Jersey. Doesn’t matter if its the mafia Goblins of Undermine or the pirate Goblins of Booty Bay, they’re largely the same presentation of a Goblin.
It’s a bit boring.

How is this any different than what Goblins have always been?

You don’t like the goblins, okay. I don’t care for orcs, but I appreciate the diversity. I am glad whenever they focus on something else than humans and orcs. That stuff gets really tiresome.

funfact the entire Dragonflight storyline was more Lgbtq Disney than Tww.

Tww currently is something between feet/goblins

I dont like Undermine:

  • no fly;
  • buildings cover view;
  • car is bad, its too fast, always crash into something, way too slow turn;
  • raid is annoying, too many too strong trash, AoE, CC, patrols hit in the back, not to mention loot system that rewards mediocrity and punishes dedication;

I don’t mind goofy. I don’t like the trash heaps, the pollution, the dense urban environment, the over-consuming hyper-capitalist society and the constant self-destructive disregard for consequence to the point of “how do they not know better YET?”

Goblins worst enemies are themselves. Which is both exasperating and too close to reality to be comfortable.

So I’ve done the campaign to chapter 1 and I go to Undermine for the raid or delves and that’s it. Will probably never finish the campaign unless 11.2 forces me to. Killing Gallywix in a raid is all the story resolution I need. Job done, moved on.

It’s not that the zone is badly designed, I think it’s been made with love, but I just don’t like the theme. If vanilla WoW had been set in Undermine, I would never have subscribed because I’d have known it wasn’t the game for me.

Tis fine, it’ll change up next patch, until then I’ll just do my chores in the 11.0 zones. The raid is pretty good at least and that’s ~80% of why I play.

To me, Goblins have always felt like the Jack Black of WoW. Goofy sidekicks, but doesn’t work as the main story/lead.
While I can appreciate all the effort that was made with Undermine with visuals and music, it’s just not for me.

I love it and the music is 10/10. It’s fun! Wish there was more to do there though.

Gally has been a bad guy since day 1 though. Goblin players were literally enslaved by him. The fact that he wasn’t dumped into Kezan’s volcano years ago is nothing short of impressive, since we’ve murked NPCs for far less.

As for Undermine? Not really my jam, but it fits the goblin racial vibe perfectly. So that’s nice.

This is at least world of warcraft.

In shadowlands i was in prison of ardenweald and all other weird goofy stuff for like 2 years.
That will leave a mark on your mentality :smiley:
