Does anyone play on low pop servers? If so, what are the benefits and draw-backs? I play on high pop and experience awful lag so I’m thinking of creating a character on a low pop server.
I do. It is great, I hate crowded places even though it is digital. I still see a lot of people from other servers mind. I don’t really know any arguments for a high pop realm.

People buy an sell on them
People raid , chat etc
Valdrakken isn’t laggy either
But people think it ain’t like draenor somehow it’s a dead server

I used to be on one(this character is a replacement of my main who i transferred to a full pop server). I prefer it, it feels like a community and if i could transfer all my characters to a small server (or Argent Dawn) i probably would. I value the in-game community a lot and seeing the same names all the time is really part of the experience that makes the game so much better.
Cons are, well, you give yourself a handicap for endgame.

My realm is a pretty calm German RP setver and I honestly enjoy it. Switched from a more crowded PvP realm and wouldn’t change my decision. Farm spots aren’t overcrowded, lags in cities not really an issue. However, some items from AH I easily get on big realms like AD are often rare to not obtainable. Still no elemental lariat recipe in sight…

Used to as a collector, but cross realm merging made that redundant.
