Did a dev’s wife cheat on him with a frost mage or something? I was so excited to see frost mage on top for once just to be nerfed once again. And now that you fall behind when changing specs you’re basically fcked. Thanks a lot Blizzurd

Frost mages hit like a wet noodle until they get a proc, so yes, they do hate frost mages.
I’ve changed to fire, not tried it yet though.

At least you guys can switch specs, locks have to reroll 
One more thing, I really regret calling my mage Frostie.
edit: Ok so now I have played Fire, omg it’s so much better at level 51, the mobs don’t even reach me if I cast Frostbolt to slow them down.
so Frostbolt, Firebolt, Fire blast, instant Pyroblast, Fire blast, Fire blast, and sometimes another instant Pyroblast and all this with free boost gear. I think I will need to make a macro.

Frost will be great to play by the end of the patch. Between thermal void, icy propulsion, slick ice and a ton of crit and haste, IV up time will be huge. I think blizz are wary of how well it will scale. Frost mage could be the new shadow priest… which means it’ll be awful to gear.
Imo there won’t be any buffs, probably nerfs every 0.x patch. Playing frost could be a long slog to good gear and good dmg every patch but a ton of fun when you get there. Might be time to think about if it’s worth it.
Edit: also it will be were arcane was in bfa, having to choose between aoe and ST loadouts and suffer for it.
So should I suffer the whole patch to enjoy the spec for couple of weeks?
This design doesn’t make sense for me. The scaling should be liner in away frost can perform above average (of course depends on gear and skills) the whole expansion.

I don’t disagree, shadow priests were fighting against their spec for a long time even though it was arguably the most fun raid spec in the game. But none of the scaling is going to be liniar. Too many % multipliers. Fire’s combustion is gonna go bonkers again.
I am thinking to switch fire and enjoy the game…
I hate the switch when I know it will require tremendous efforts to catch up the rest of fire mages.

Yes, blizzard hates frost mages and mages in general. Wanna know why? Every dev plays a melee class. Only new classes in the game are melee. Mages were always the counter to melee if played right, and frost was king in kiting multiple melee. The melee devs just got tired of getting destroyed by good mages, since really skilled mage players were able to solo multiple opponents. It wasn’t easy to pull off and required a large amount of skill/experience, but, you know, on the receiving end of a complete beatdown, more often than not, you’re not going to credit a player for being good and will instead get emotionally frustrated and blame the class instead, even though you just managed to 2shot a squishy backpeddaling mage 10 minutes ago.

I’m playing Shadow Priest right now, it’s so much fun, especially compared to Frost Mage. It’s like playing a completely different game where stuff actually make sense. I basically use all my talents. Frost is some leftover rotten food that’s been left in the fridge since WoD.
I love spriest too, sticking with fire though love my combustion too much. Frost actually has one of the best talent trees in the game imo… make of that what you will.

today i was doing arena as a DH with my friend who was a rogue we met a mage who was frost he killed me ( 178 ilvl with 20% dam reduction on ) that frost mage actualy killed me in less then 5sec same as with a fire mage he runs around like he just doesn’t care 5insta casts and im dead please do sommething about this bullshït
In bfa nearly every talent was actively being used in that tree between the 2 builds in pve at different times. Others were used in pvp, the only dead one (off the top of my head) was mirror images and they removed that. Too ealry in sl to say how the talents will be used.

Can only say yes Blizzard hate mage in general, they have been taking a giant dump on the mage class for the last 2 expacs.
Its beyond laughable that a pure dps class hardly ever makes top dps spot in PVE, whilst class’s that can multi spec to heal / dps / tank constantly get no1 spot on dps.
