I’m currently on the horde and the server is mainly all horde characters. But does that even matter anymore? I really fancy making my main a dwarf but not sure if it’s the right thing to do.
Both stormwind and orgrimmar seem pretty dead. Only valdrakken seems to get busy now.
I have a friend who is horde on this server if I faction changed to alliance could we still trade gold and items cross faction on the same server?
I think you can’t faction trade them directly, but you can send them mails.
In the next expansion you can also become an Earthen Dwarf for the Horde too?
It maybe worth it for me to just hold out then for the new allied race. I’m a bit wounded they haven’t given us tuskar yet haha. Been able to mail stuff makes a massive difference.
Thanks for clearing the trading up though. 
Not much besides what I already said D: please try to trade them in a neutral city and see what happens - I haven’t tried it with the other faction yet.

Since we could have both factions in the same guild I’ve slowly been rerolling all my chars to my Horde realm Draenor.
Blizzard are continually relaxing the realm barrier too to make things more region friendly. Next expansion will embrace this even more.
