Whilst wandering through Pandaria I started wondering, do Pandaren appear in any of the other expansions and to what extent? I’ll be going through the whole land of Pandaria first and after that, if there is another expansion with Pandaren lore, I will play that one.
Not panda lore per sa but legion monk class hall does have some quest lines involing Pandaland but apart from that not much quests since MoP for there really,
The Shaman Order Hall campaign in Legion has some Pandaren elements. Elemental Artifact is the Fist of Raden (from Throne of Thunder).
BFA has Invasion activities in Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
So Pandaren elements do pop up now and then. Not major in the vast scheme of things but they are there.
It’s quite common with Blizzard. They deal with things in an episodic way (i.e. often within the confines of an expansion). They might pull threads of things into newer expansions but their focus is always on the newer content / lore rather than developing existing.
The original races (Orcs, Humans, N.Elves…) still get some focus but that’s to drive the overarching expansion ‘plot’. The newer races such as Pandaren are just left to snooze on Pandaria - which, I suppose, could be considered more authentic to their lore and temperament.
they can’t even remember that Ji Firepaw exists most of the time or include Aysa Cloudsinger in any meaningful way and you expected them to have expanded the panda lore? blizzard does not have the talant to properly world build nor are they interested in trying it’s all about the rule of the cool this days its like michael bay took over as lead story / narration dev and we never noticed and nah it was not better under metzen the rule of the cool stuff started with him
I suppose, with what treatment do the nelves, undead and Horde in general get, the lack of attention can actually be a blessing in disguise. Although seeing the consequences of the Vale war would be nice, yes…
