Dragonfligth is just an embarrassing product in terms of technical performance, and everyone used to high frame rates and stable frame times can attest to that. Pre-patch exacerbated the issues and now the game runs genuinely awfully, but now I’m thinking this is mostly because of the phasing tech.
When you’re flying around Valdrakken, the performance will drop to 60s even with a 7800x3d, and these aren’t stable drops like when you’re GPU-bound in a well optimized game, CPU-bottleneck drops like these feel infinitely worse.
Whenever someone joins or leaves a raid near a world boss or similar events, there is a large frame time spike which results in a stutter. It micro stutters constantly while dragon riding and especially when it’s in more modern areas.
I don’t know if any of the new graphics options they added with the patch is causing these issues because disabling them made stuff run even worse, but there’s clearly something very wrong.
