Ive not played retail since classic came out, but ive got to say dragon flight has sparked a little flame inside, and the more vidoes i watch and the more i read about it, that little flame grows…
I really enjoy raiding, a challenge that involves a large group of players to come together to defeat massive bosses, find loot and yes…wipe a lot,
but as far as i know retail is all about 5man mythic dungeons which just doesnt have the same flavour to it,
So do players still raid in large packs to collect their spoils or does the majority stick to their 5 man teams?
Raiding is still popular and I don’t think that will change any time soon. The task is finding the right friend/guild group to do it with unless you want to pug it.
Since you can get equal or even better loot from mythic dungeons and spamming them without the weekly lockout, it’s better and faster way for many people. But raids are still there and you can find a guild that runs raids. I never liked mythic dungeons, not the system or doing them so pretty much I play this game for raids.
Yes raiding does exist in the game still and many people still do it.
However as a former raider myself from back in the Vanilla - Wotlk days, I always preferred Dungeons (and 10 mans), as they were more cosy experiences.
I don’t raid at all anymore, mainly because I don’t want to commit to the schedule of raiding. So M+ is a great alternative of play, especially considering I always preferred dungeons.
Raiding is still very much alive, however to call it popular is a stretch. That said, with a bit it research I can guarantee you’ll find what you’re looking for given that description.
