Does resilience is working correctly ? I doubt

Does resilience is working correctly ?

Or is it normal to get destroyed even with 300+ Resilience ? Shred 2k from Feral, auto attack from whatever melee 1k8 crit constantly, Elemental Shaman 2k7 chain light, BM Hunter killing people without noticing.

All of that with a HP Pool of 9k (thanks PvP blue gear and offset).

Yeah fine, how are we supposed to heal ourself if we die in a blanket silence ?

Can’t wait for Tier 5 PvE gear in Season 1 and the new weapons from Blacksmith, all of that with the same crap of PvP gear that have the same stats in term of healing as Naxxramas gear.

What a game. Reroll Eng to get a belt or die.

Arena in TBC was way faster then in later expansions. Plus, people nowadays know better how to play their class. Plus, in later seasons you got more stamina. So i Guess yes, it works correctly

probably not working same as it did in TBC

but its working according to blizztrash official reference client

Can agree, my shaman in mostly blue pve gear crits for 2500 or so without an enhancement shaman boosting the damage.
How much is 300 resilience supposed to reduce the damage? Critchance by 5%, critdamage by 10%? (My shaman has about 35% spellcrit chance with lightning, my druid about 30% melee crit chance)
I don’t know what class you play, probably not a deathknight but I can shred for 3k damage on cloth.
I play Arena with 2 healers (Feral + Holypriest + Healshaman) which is probably not the optimal setup but I normally don’t kill a healer before he runs out of mana, if it helps.

season 2 comes with phase 2

I hope, because otherwise It will be really really hard to tank that.

I actually does (and that’s why it will change in the future because it doesn’t work), played a lot of arena and you get 2 shotted by certain classes (like mages, warriors, shamans, well basically every1 except rogues, tanks and healers) with way over 259 resilience, getting hit by 4k+ will still be 4k+ after resilience, this is why you destroy people with PvE gear in arena.

It is working correct and it sux , that why it was changed in other expansions

thats why when people tell you that you need X ressi to be good at pvp it is all buch of crap, you can have full t4 and be as effective as in full arena sets

dont know about that tbh, i got 260+ resil and im not geting 1 shoted by rogues
Previously in classic 1 shoted

so like 7% lesser chance to beein crited and 14% lesser damage from crits ? insted of beein crited for 2k you will be for 1,860k

its not that ressis is useless but when you have to chose bettwen T4 vs PvP blue set t4 is better, or next seson s1vs t5 , T5 is better

yes ressi help but alsow raw armor stamina agi ( fore dodge) you know all that staf that you can find in PvE gear,

I’m not buying off-pieces until season 2 but even with 200 resi I’m getting crit easily 4.5k POM pyros and 3k+ chain lightning, etc.

I know it’s only 5% less chance to get crit and 10% reduction in crit dmg, but I doubt it’s working as intended or that the values seem off, but when you think about it, phase 1 (and 2) resi is extremely low on PvP gear compared to later phases.

Its working as intended. Bare in kind resilience only lowers chance to be crit, dot damage, critical damage taken and mana burns.

Essentially, yes, it lets you survive a little bit longer by reducing the chance you’ll get crit. Theoretically, however, if you get into a fight where you’re wearing full PvE gear with 0 resi and your opponent never crits you, PvE gear would be better in that situation.

That isnt a realistic scenario though. When I’m playing destro I’m noticing a significant difference when fighting people with full resilience. I can almost never crit them. In contrast, against PvE geared players I often notice 2-3 crits in a row which completely delete the poor guy.

Resi gear definately helps and makes a huge difference. Its not like WOTLK where you notice a significant boost to your damage mitigation, but rather its there to lower the chances of you getting deleted by multiple crits in a row.

Difference in resilience between season1 and later phases (s3-s4) is actually not that big at all, but combination of offensive stats + resi/stamina is.
Resilience was screwed up in original TBC and so it is now as it handicaps some classes (specs) too much, while it almost doesn’t touch other.

We will actually see much, much less resilience on people in later phases as mix between PvE and PvP gear outshines pure PvP gear.

Yes

No

The only class that might use a similar amount of resilience to what they do now (150-220ish) is rogues, because they can get away with it, and they scale quite well with pve gear

Every other class/spec is going to get more over the course of the expansion, the only thing that differs is how much, a mage in full s1 bis is going to be around 250, while a mage in full s4 bis will be around 310, whereas a disc priest will be just above 300 in s1, and at 450+ in s4, for example

It completely depends from class to class but in general with all classes combined there will be somewhat less resilience. I’m talking with having in mind that we are comparing full PvP geared people in S1, not this half baked scenario where majority of people don’t even have full offset PvP pieces.

Warlock, warrior, druid, disc priest will keep rocking pretty much full PvP gear. Depends on comp for warrior though.

Hunters, rogues, mages, paladins and shamans can mix in a lot of PvE pieces and probably will.

Anyway we are lucky if TBCC ends up having enough people to play in later seasons. :frowning: With how things look TBCC will pretty much die out quickly. :frowning:

Resilience got a very big buff in Wotlk and all pvp healing was reduced by 10% to compensate, you will just have to deal with bursty damage until then.

Very sad to hear that. Time to play double dps and reroll Rogue/Mage/Feral I guess.

Just play what you enjoy

Healer/dps will get better as the expansion goes on, to the point where you could probably argue that there are no top tier double dps comps in season 4
