Hello, I haven’t played Wow for a few years. I saw that the servers are bundled together so is there any difference in choosing ? I previously played on Defias Brotherhood which is a PVE server. Now I would like to play PVP. Is there any point in changing servers since they are bundled together ? Will the wait time for BG and population of people be similar on each ?
@Acebruiser: Welcome back, first of all! It seems that you have been gone quite a long while. As far as retail WoW is concerned, PvE/PvP split has been replaced by warmode (you might recall that Defias Brotherhood actually used to be a RP-PvP realm in the distant past). Also, only some realms have connections, while random BGs tend to draw people from pretty much all European realms. However, there are huge variations between populations and several realms are practically almost entirely of one faction. So, if you tell us, which faction you wish to play, people will be able to offer you suggestions on which realms might suit you. This is especially important, if you are looking to play Arena / Rated BGs.
I think I would like to play on the Horde side. I’ve been looking around a bit for servers and was thinking about Kazzak. But I would love to choose a server that you recommend for arenas/ranking battlegrounds.
If you are looking for open world pvp where horde dominate then it doesn’t exist anymore because blizzard have made a system where you are “phased” with the ratio pretty much always being 20 alliance to every 1 horde player…
good luck as Horde you’re going to need it <3
Server choice doesn’t matter nearly as much as it did in Ye Olde Dayes, now that we have BattleTag friends and BattleTag Groups, and Discords, and cross-realm and even cross-faction groupings.
However, even though it matters less than it used to, I would say that Kazzak is an excellent choice for Horde PvP. Massive sever, near-100% Horde, lots of PvP players.
