Doing and completing quests while in a raid group

Why exactly can’t we do quests and complete them while in a raid group? Is there a GOOD reason for that?

I am asking, because i feel so bored while waiting for my raid group to form. For Normal Raids is not that bad, however for Mythic Raids or for RBGs that are popular lately, its just sad. Waiting half an hour playing AH or fishing and being bored to death for 1-2 game of RBG and then the raid disbands and you have to wait again.

Could Blizzard do something about this, so we could have fun doing quests also while in raid group?

Back in WoD people would join large raid groups to do these days missive things, like killing a bunch of Blackrock Foundary orcs.

WoD had a strict no world fun allowed.

Therefor, they killed it.

That’s my memories of raid group questing, anyways.

I don’t think there’s a good reason for it. World Quests solo are fast enough to even think of “abusing” this.

This restriction is in place so people won’t abuse the system by forming 40 man raid groups to do every quest. This restriciton exist pretty much since vanilla.

You have to play the way you’re supposed to, not the way you want to.

In my view the “fun” thing to do would be scale the quest, but I suspect there wouldn’t be enough mobs around to achieve this.

I think it’s about the fact that max number of shared tags is 5.

Yep. The restriction makes perfect sense, otherwise raids would just insta complete everything.

It trivialises a lot of content to just roflstomp quests in large raid parties. So they don’t allow it.

I forget this from time to time, once I was fishing and couldn’t catch my daily quest items because I was in a raid group. Took me a good ten mins to realise :laughing:

Potential for abuse I guess. One guy could complete a quest for dozens of players, or multiboxers could just use one char & get 40 times the rewards.

At some point in vanilla you could clear quests with a full raid iirc, was quickly removed a few patches after launch.

Been like this for most expansions and it should remain so

Wasnt there this addon autoinviting/forming groups instantly for worldquests? Maybe because of that… so people would not be instantly in 40 man groups and have the worldquest done in 1 second…

There was back in Legion. People abused it and it was disabled and of course there was a poop storm on the forums.

it also makes quests extremely unfun for people trying to do them if there is a raid of people there killing everything in sight…

yuo can see why it isnt allowed.

Since the launch of the game I think you were not allowed to complete quests while in raid group. However I think world quests could be excluded from this rule.
