Earlier this week I lent a friend of mine 25k gold only learn later that he has been banned for RMT and, consequently, my gold being removed or forever inaccessible. I also need to mention that I lent the same friend 20k gold before and he sent it back after a few days; so if anyone looked into the transaction they would’ve had enough proof to see it was not RMT.
Any attempt to contact Customer Support resulted in a reply where they don’t take any responsibility for the action the automated bot takes. So I decided to take it to the forums for others to see and bare witness to the fiesta that the reporting system and customer support are.
I will keep pushing customer support for a resolution until I get to speak to a human being since their bots and automated replies proved time and time again that they cannot help with anything other than bland replies where they wash their hand of any responsibility for their actions.
I will try to keep this post updated as I can, otherwise I wish you all a Merry Christmas along your loved ones
Final update: After many tries to get into contact with customer support, no solution was found, they didn’t even wanna look into the issue on a more detailed level. So as a result I will no longer use Blizzard products at all. I appreciate everyone who visited this thread and left their thoughts in the comments
I’ll be honest, you are very delusional if you think you will ever see your gold back. And you deserve to lose that gold for not knowing what kind of “friends” you have.
I love responses like this because it shows a TOTAL faith in a system that is very often very faulty.
I’ve been falsely banned before from multiple people working together to falsely report me for various things but always been unbanned within 24hrs once Blizz have woken up and looked at what actions their automated mod-bot has done.
It’s sad, I hope you and your friend get your things sorted, OP.
I think the people who always go “NAH YOU BOTTED!” “YOU DID BUY GOLD!” “YOU DID SAY BAD THINGS IN CHAT!” etc are simply people who’ve never accidentally/falsely been flagged by the automated tools or had a group of people get together to mass-report someone.
Back in the original game, a few people on the RP server were playing a Ponzi scheme.
I remember that, it was pretty cool. I wasn’t all that young even then, but was unaware of the concept anyway. The synopsis was something like: give me 10 gold now, and you will get 4 gold back every week, forever. I decided to just see what was gonna happen, out of curiousity, and 10G wasn’t all that much anyway even then.
They were in a gnome guild called ‘The legitimate business club’ and mostly RP-ing in Old Town, this was before there was an AH in Stormwind, and basically everything was RP there. It really was an original RP thing to put gnomes in shady context and play a criminal with appropriate language and sidekicks and so on. Pretty cool.
But someone reported them and they all got banned for breaking TOS.
Not really related to the subject at hand perhaps, but I wanted to share this cool story.
That´s a good one. I have to write that down for my next stand-up show.
In all seriousness, you are probably boned. Blizzard won´t look at this complaint unless you have a huge following of people making noise on your behalf.
(best example would be asmongold who gets unbanned in a matter of minutes after he received an unwarranted ban on this account)
Us mere mortals do have very little to no hope to get an unwarranted ban overturned.
This is one of the reasons I decided to take it to the forums; I wanted to gauge the opinion of the community on the subject (regardless if they believe me or not) and, also, to see if the post would get some kind of traction despite me not being a VIP.
Regardless if OP post is true or not, and if gold he gave was legit or not I think Blizzard just auto tags anyone who is not in the gray market. There was a video about gold sellers in China, that some reported Blizzard emplyee who was found to collud with gold sellers and local Blizzard GMs never banned gold suppliers from list that 3rd side trading place gave. In return the payed that Blizzard employee royalties.
Of course this plactive was revealed, cut short and employee was punished (maybe for hiding gray area of the business badly), but who can guarantee Blizzard has no such schemes in EU and US regions today to expand their profits to gray areas?
