While in a Tiger’s Peak arena, I noticed that, while I was on one of the 2 ledges and my pet was in the middle of the arena, I tried to cast my pet’s Master’s Call ability using the Command Pet ability (from the general Hunter tab in the spellbook) and noticed that the ability went on cooldown but not buff was applied.
The main advantage of the “Command Pet” ability is that it switches the ability depending on the pet family you are using.
So I went and tested this using two macros, while sending the pet out of line of sight:
1st attempt:
/petfollow
/cast [pet, @player] Command Pet
2nd attempt:
/petfollow
/cast [pet, @player] Master’s Call(Cunning Ability)
With the first macro, the Command Pet ability went on cooldown, but the ability from the pet bar, the one that is picked from the pet tab in the spellbook didn’t.
With the second macro, the pet-specific ability, the one picked from the pet tab of the spellbook, didn’t go on cooldown.
