Okay, since the subscription is still active, I decided to have a quick gaming session. I encountered a priest who hit me with three dots before I managed to turn my mount around. I couldn’t stop to heal because she was chasing me. By the time the dots finally wore off, I had 25% health left. Is the game really supposed to be this stupid? At the moment of impact, my character had 4,222 health and 27 shadow resistance. If the enemy had used minions as well, I would have been dead. Basically, you can create a fully automated kill macro without any repercussions. In the worst-case scenario, you have to shield and heal before pressing the macro once more. If I didn’t think this whole concept makes the game a waste of time (since you lose during character creation), I would have created a priest myself.
And yet your chimera shot crits for 1.4 but slow dots hurt you. ![]()
So your counterargument to my statement is that a hunter has an ability that can be used in a very specific scenario for a total amount of 1.4k damage. This is compared to the priest’s ability, which can be used on the move and isn’t distance-related, while doing over twice the amount of damage (126.18%). Yeah, this sounds like well-reflected thought.
Dude I MAIN a Hunter and I think they outclass priests ten fold atm, I can “on the move” slap you with sting, instant chimera shot into stun and you’re dead. Dots slowly kill you yes but, they’re not busted like you describe.
They DO damage but, again it takes time to ramp up, meanwhile as a hunter I can slap you with my pet/chimera and you’re gone. Classes like warriors and hunters suffer from dots but, that’s the way it is.
All I see is Whaa!, stop people attacking me when I don’t want them too.
Sir, you have a well-rounded argument. I must say, you are highly intelligent and adept at bringing topics to life with clear objectivity. Your facts highlighted my error effectively. I now understand that my experience of losing 75% health from a single button press is incorrect. It simply isn’t true because you say so. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see you in-game, as I’ve already uninstalled it due to my poor performance in avoiding the enemy player’s single-button attack. I’ve tried every trick in the book, asked them not to do it, and even used thoughts and prayers, but to no avail. I hope you have a great day. With such a reflective and intuitive mind, you’re clearly destined for great things in life.
If they do that report them for cheating as it should be three buttons to put the dots on and you should be able to ride out of range for the third one.
You could just turn around and attack them, you know, PvP on a PvP realm, or are you one of those people who just think that PvP realms is for others.
I think your reply needs to be added to the dictionary as a perfect example of passive-aggressiveness.
I just dont understand… WHAT do you suggest a shadowpriest is supposed to do then? Not play his class? Dots is the main way priest do dmg… i dont get what you are asking???
Should warlocks with chaosbolt stop playing too? or hunter with chimera shot? Or boomkin with starfire?? Or shaman with lavaburst?? or rogues with mutilate?? or warriors with slam+white crits?? Or warlocks with dots?? or mage with arcane surge?? Paladin with instant casts that take your hp away?? WHAT DO YOU WANT?? That everyone knows your name and dont attack you??? Try thinking about something else then YOU for a second.
you forgot the double proc multishot each hitting for 1K5 ![]()
meanwhile my corruption hit for 100 ![]()
i wish they all played melee hunt like p2 , truly hope they giga nerf range hunter.
Yesterday I encountered a SH priest + disco priest combo in BG.
Vanish, blind, on CD.
I attack disco priest ofc, so he cannot heal shadow priest. Shadow priest puts dots on me, then heals his mate. then his mate also dots me.
Healing full with one penance that has almost 0 manacost, having dispersion, homunculus, fear, shield, inner fire, mana pet, shadow damage stun, heal from damage done,…
– Other broken classes –
Hunters having longer permastun with distract, pet stun, combat traps, slows,… than rogues, parrying 70% of the attacks incl. kidney… having mail armor also helps a lot.
Warriors disarming for an eternity, applying DoT, reducing heal, reducing move speed,…
Meta locks immune to sap, new aura puts you out of stealth if getting close, passive lifesteal healing up any damage you do to them.
Bear druids just plain immortal with health armor and self HoTs.
You cant stealth attack a mage because you get instantly stunned.
People running on mounts just plain too fast and even stun does not dismount them.
resilience will fix it
1% of Resilience will reduce the chance to be critically hit by 1%, reduce the damage taken from crits by 2.2% (improved from 2% in Patch 3.0.3), reduce the damage done by DoTs by 1%, and reduce the amount drained by mana draining effects by 1%.
It’s not the priest’s fault that they’re playing the most overpowered class in the game. It’s the magnificent, outstanding, reflective, overqualified, and nuanced mid-level boss at Blizzard who can’t fathom that PvP is an aspect of the game. This individual doesn’t understand that pressing one button to get a kill lacks any competitive aspect, thereby ruining the game for people who want to experience PvP. Sure, this isn’t a pressing issue for the majority of the player base who prefer PvE, since this imbalance doesn’t affect their interaction with the environment. I believe this is why they have not and won’t fix it either, since most players enjoy grind simulator.
If, by any chance, a Blizzard employee sees this, here are some thoughts on how to fix the problem, even though I won’t be around to experience it:
-
Differentiate damage output given to players and mobs.
-
Add at least some skill requirements to the dots, such as timing or distance management. Maybe even something similar to the hunter traps where you have to aim with your mouse button to land the ability.
-
Introduce counterable mechanics, like a short casting period or new abilities that require the priest to assess the situation instead of just running in a straight line pressing one button.
-
Give classes that don’t have healing or the ability to remove curses this option through runes. This way, they will gain counters at the expense of their damage output or tanking ability.
-
Prolong the priest’s cooldowns, so they can’t outspam you.
-
Take away the healing or shielding ability from priests who run a damage build.
-
Give classes that can’t stop or reduce healing this option. Stuns with a 15-30 second cooldown isn’t the answer.
Just to underscore my point, these ideas took me one minute to construct, but since priests have been broken since phase 2, it shows Blizzard’s lack of commitment to improve the PvP experience. It’s a business after all and this doesn’t affect their profit so why bother.
Pop a shadow pot… then turn arpund and crit him with on ebuttom press for 1.3k
Or even better press one button emrage your pet and thrn go afk.
If you can’t land macro dots on an afk hunter I got bad news for you.
shadow prot pot can be dispelled but 1,3 k is two ticks so prob ppl dont bother y
Not a fan of that type of resiliance, it basically takes crit off the table for low crit classes or unequally nerfs crit reliant classes. Punishing some classes over others is not a good idea. Even though the hate is on SP and warlocks, low crit chance on dot runes already is bad, reducing this further just removed the rune entirely from pvp and you saying reduce dot damage at the same time which means there is no alternative options.
I personnaly find the ups and downs of getting crits creates a variance in pvp. You seem to want to streamline averages dps doing this, which may seem correct but actually reduces those ‘damn i crit everything and deleted that guy’, which i think many find fun.
The fairest is to increase the hp buff in pvp, this rewards stamina for classes such as warrior who really need to survive for a 10 seconds in a fight to have an impact rather than being deleted in seconds.
Its makes pve gear worse as the lower stam becomes even worse as stamina becomes 2 x value if lets say it was 100% hp increase.
reduced crit chance can be unfun idd but crit dmg reduce dot dmg and mana burns would be so nice .Just increasing health more imo is problematic as no food bandage or anything can fill your ho bar then and healers would feel weak having to cast 5 heals to top you off
