Double legendaries and Sub rogue

Hello all,
As a Kyrian sub rogue, my covenant leg is my Bis and I used it on my belt slot.
However, the double leg in 9.2 required you to buy the belt.
My question is : what will I have to do or not do in preparation of 9.2 and the double leg system in my case ?
I can’t seem to understand those systems
Thanks you for your time

Tried PTR and I couldn’t use my existing Kyrian legendary belt together with another legendary and needed the new 9.2 belt for that. After obtaining the new 9.2 belt I could equip another legendary alongside it.

So can I recycle my current belt in order to do the second leg ?
And how does that belt come ? Max level with stats and all ?

From the US forum:-

So far there are two options;

1: Buy the already made legendary belt off the vendor, it has the covenant swapping power on it, As far as I can tell atm it has set stats tho.

2:Buy the new runecarving legendary power off the vendor, like all other powers you craft a legendary at the runecarver using this power, this power allows you to place it on ANY slot piece.

So far these are the only two ways to get a legendary with the “Unique Equipped: Enlightened legendary” flag, which is different from the current “Unique Equipped: Shadowlands Crafted Legendary” flag that current legendary gear has, thus allowing you to equip one of the new covenant power legendary along with one of the existing non covenant power legendary.

This however means that your CURRENT covenant legendary that one may be using right now, will not qualify to be double equipped with a non covenant legendary, and you will be required to buy the belt or recraft the covenant legendary using the new runecarver power in order to double equip.

Wowhead:-

Patch 9.2 adds the ability to equip a second legendary, allowing you to wear one of your normal legendaries, plus your covenant one. There are two ways to unlock this second legendary, either by purchasing a legendary belt, or by purchasing a new runecarving recipe.

Both belt and recipe require revered with The Enlightened to purchase. The Runecarving recipe is the same for all classes, so reaching revered and unlocking it with one character will likely allow all characters in your account to craft a second legendary. The Runecarving recipe costs 500 Cosmic Flux, while the belt costs 2500 Cosmic Flux. The belt is more expensive likely because the runecarving recipe requires you to buy the base item to craft.

Note that the only way to wear a second legendary is using this new belt or the new runecarving recipe. This new recipe changes accordingly to your current covenant, so you don’t need to craft multiple.

My current lege is set on my belt so I will also have this joy.

Same situation here. Using the covenant legendary currently. The leather belt has really sub optimal stats so I’ll likely have to craft 2 new legendaries.

Luckily Blizzard decided to triple down on their legendary crafting system. So the rank 4 recipe will still be required to craft the new rank 7 legendaries.

Looking forward to spend a small fortune on them once again.

Do I understand it correctly that we will have 3 mandatory slots in 9.2? This belt + 2 legendaries and the belt will be a dead slot when it comes to gearing options?

No just 2 slots. The belt (or the legendary of the belt crafted on another item) will become the covenant legendary of your current covenant.

So we’ll be wearing non-covenant legendary + belt.

So the covenant legendary power will be on the belt + one lege of your choice depending on its slot requirements outside of the belt? Because at the moment, the covenant powers arent on belt slots or at least not the ones I checked. So this has to be changed in 9.2.
This reminds me that I will have to somehow get gold to recraft all my chars, which is impossible outside of buying tokens. I guess I will be forced to skip this patch, because there is no way I get this amount of gold.

Once you get the required reputation there’s 2 options on the vendor:

  • option 1: a legendary belt. It has set stats. You just buy it and equip it and it will work as if it was your covenants legendary.

  • option 2: a runecarving memory, that will allow you to craft a legendary with the same effect as the legendary belt. You will have to provide a legendary base item and the other materials though. The crafted legendary will work just like the belt. Currently on the PTR this runecarving memory can be crafted in every slot (except weapons and trinkets).

It doesn’t really matter if you’re recrafting or not. If you want the highest rank for your legendary (rank 7 becoming available in 9.2), then you’ll need a new rank 7 base item either way, doesn’t matter if you’re recrafting or upgrading.

I definetly get the frustration though. They should really get away from requiring the lower rank base items. Unlocking the rank 4 recipe will still be required to craft rank 7. So it’s once again a few exceptionally rich people profiting, while everyone else has to spend horrendous amounts of gold.

Thank you for the info. So its not that bad, I guess. If the belt works automatically as the covenant lege, all my chars that have their non-belt lege could still work with minimal investment. Cba recrafting my leges to 1 rank higher and paying double the cost.

I forgot about the rank 7 coming in 9.2.
Big gold sink again smh.
