Does double tap aimed shot ricochet to other targets? Or should you always use rapid fire double tap in aoe situations?
It hits other targets with trick shots up yes.

Tip: If you use the Aimed Shot procs talent, you can actually benefit from double tap on both rapid fire and aimed shot at the same time.
You just need to wait for an instant AS proc. Once it does, pull Double Tap - Rapid Fire - and before RF cast reaches the end, use your instant AS → this results in both RF and AS benefiting from Double Tap
