So i have this issue since couple of days now, i hit the install on world of warcraft and it downloads until 5% and then it slows down to 20 KB or so and crashes. I tried uninstalling battle net , reseting mac , reseting router, switching to Beta mode and installing wow. None of it seems to work. I even tried installing wow on my girlfriends mac and nothing but the same thing happens. Is this some kind of bug or is it macbooks? can someone help and does anyone else have same issue on his Macbook.
Oh and i have gotten in touch with GM and technical Specialist but they just run me through procedure that does not work.
Buy a PC, even a cheapo PC is better than a mac to play wow (or any games) on!!
Trust me, I used to play on a mac
Intel or Apple Silicone?
The Apple Silicon macs are a very different beast. My mac mini m2 is faster than my gaming laptop for WoW. It runs at 6/10 4k at 120 FPS for less than €1000. It’s ridiculous.
As for the question, sounds weird. I haven’t run into that problem. I can try to turn it on tomorrow and see what I get.
Even my work m1 air macbook with only 8gb ram can hit 45fps at 4-5/10 i tested it while at vacations
I’m afraid I cannot reproduce this issue. I’m at 14% and it’s downloading just fine.
Also, my laptop has just died and seriously considering an M2 MacBook Pro as a replacement. It doesn’t play a lot of games (outside of using GamePorting Toolkit :] ) but it’s so fast for the wattage it’s surreal.
This is known problem. You can try to use beta battle.net client. For some people it seems to help. Or wait until they resolve this bug.
Ah, I used an old client… it offered me an update. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Good advice Drakomedi
