DPS classes with no heal spec have better self heal cd than those who have

However I wanted to point out just that death knights are not those ‘2 death strikes and full’ kind of people and shouldn’t be put on same list as i.e. DHs, or feral (or even moonkins), etc.

DKs can heal a lot in i.e. dungeon, but let say raid situation or even PvP this proc does not happen. DS has ‘victory rush’ alike component. Which is why some times people may feel that dps dks heal a lot too. It needs dying targets for it.

And I think it is not fair to compare ret with shaman. Shaman is class act of its own. They can as well remove the healing surge from dps shaman. That thing does nothing and sometimes I think it takes life instead adding it.

My shaman is 470, healing surge heals for 41k as dps. Paladins flash of light is equally weak as ret.

It does.
loh aside which has a monumental cd, every other self heal option is a joke, flash heals nothing and is a hard cast, wog heals a little but cost you lot of dps.
compared to a lock or a dk that heals without losing much in terms of dmg and rotation, feels like we’re paying a hybrid tax for nothing.

Looks like it doesn’t really catch up. 449 ilvl, 406k hp, 31 608 healing. Is your paladin Prot? Maybe tanks get worse healing as they have that instant cast heal on 15s cd?

This is what it does. Something is attacking you, you hit it back or you go down faster because HS can’t heal for crap and you’re not dealing any real damage when casting it.

Nope, that was as ret.

Enraged regeneration doesn’t exist I guess?

Like I get that it’s a CD, but it’s let’s me ignore lots of aoe in m+ to let me keep dpsing.

Random trivia - my brewmonk (i482) heals I think it was 42k/84k (and 36k/72k when i am not grouped and buffed) and its fun to cast those heals in Boralus, but I do not think I have ever had time inside instances to cast heal as brewmaster in situation where things hit a fan.

Only exception been and where I have actively cast heal on self as brew has been one boss in Nyalotha, when I run just awayf rom healers range to not use chi torpeedo before I need double roll moments later.

I speak of hard cast heal, not the instant cast heal with orbs.

Update: Apparently I can’t do math when I’m hungry, normal Flash heals for 7,78% HP. Remember to eat regularly guys!

Let’s say it’s 8%, boosted to about 11-12%, we’re still talking about 1/8 HP that requires you to stand and cast, be vulnerable to kicks, and use a lot of abilities earlier. Then you look at DH who heals for fat 20% by moving their butt and you feel just about ready to start a crusade.

Can’t speak for Monks as I hate those monkeys, Protection Paladin has decent (instant cast, quite OK numbers, but you have to lose some HP for it to really get good) self-heal when levelling. Casting Flash when something is attacking you is asking for trouble though.

Are jealous for their wiggly rear ends ?

(sorry couldn’t resist :P)

My jests aside and all that - monks are likely the only tank that has incredible overpower (stagger mechanic) and strong weakness in one. Monk is the one tank with least self sustainability on off-the-chart bad situations and they cannot survive extreme situations without backup very well.

If healers die and damage goes off the chart, then monk is not the tank to “solo the boss” whereas i.e. DK has no problems run around screaming boss and bosses mothers names in same line with people screaming on Discord how you can do it.

I think out of all classes, ferals, WW and DH generally heal the most at the moment (in pvp at least)

Outside of bubble, ret is way more squishy than DK DPS (I knew what I saw in arenas). I also do think with SL class changes in mind, which make DK strong against magical damages, whereas ret is not consistent (Shield of vengeance is BAD, so is WW’s touch of Karma : BAD)

Ah damn, that’s right, forgot this one !

Yes, it’s pretty strong. This being said, due to the fact that arms is better, I quite tunnel on arms and arms defensive are quite weak (I don’t think that arms is as tanky as fury)

SL looks fine for Dks yes, I cannot complain
:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

And that’s not even about numbers game yet, but cds and conduits. I hope dks dps will be somewhere middle of the pack and not too high/low so Blizzard would not get temptation to get their dirty paws at dks mid expansion for “tuning”.

I did not speak about current PvP at all because current PvP is too hardcore/confusing/strange/namme-it for my likes. I decided to skip. SL PvP may get me back to it.

I have heard mixed comments about SL paladins.

Well some classes are designed around self heal like Warlocks, DHs, DKs, Fury Warriors.

Hunters can spec into it but not sure if it’s always desired.

I’m jealous AF that this one class has INSTANT 20% healing that DOES NOT require you to waste a GCD or resources.

There is no cap of any sort on this healing - you can eat over 9000 soul fragments in 0,01s. 5 is enough to get you from <20% to full HP.

You don’t have to be in melee range or use a melee ability to get this healing.

You don’t need to use up your resources, on the contrary, you GENERATE resource by eating soul fragments (with certain talent, that ACCIDENTALLY of course is completely dominant in its tier).

AND if the soul fragment happens to come from a Demon, you also get 20% damage buff. And some silly people thought Wrath Retri was OP against Undead.

This is one of main reasons why DHs are broken beyond all notions of decency. They should have ability named Soul Tap or sth like that - eat one nearby soul fragment for 20% hp, takes GCD to do so, 20s after killing something worth XP or honor you can use this for free. Would bring them down to reasonable levels with Warriors and DKs.

I know about those, and as usual, it’s like : Those who main it dislike, those who don’t like it. It’s like pre legion demon vs legion/BFA/SL version, both communities disagree

Are you using flash of light in front of your enemies?

You have to kite with your healer behind a wall and then you cast. If you go full versa you heal a whole lot, but you dont cast in front of the enemies. (Unless you have stacks of selfless healer but remember they can be purged  )

Kitting as a ret paladin. Hum… How is this even possible?

Veery slowly

I meant that ret paladin is the one being kitted XD

Sure, assuming that the player is using both BM spec and a Spirit Beast. I personally prefer camouflage as it has some neat uses in PVE.
