Change my mind.
By time I use death strike as dps in pve, I am already dead.
Mage in 10 characters.
Waiting 2 minutes for Exhilaration doesn’t even compare to being about to regrowth myself on a much more regular basis on my Balance Druid.
Crimson vial who? going from 30% to 20% in SL, the effectiveness of it is already halfed in PVP. Out of combat regeneration is my best friend xoxo
Yes totally the amazing heals mages have.
Edit : also ignoring that those whom have “strong” self heals are actually leach that needs a target.
Let’s do a little summary :
-Warrior : Fury has slight self heal whereas arms does not. Mediocre defensive tools for both specs.
-Rogues : They do have a damn flask. Not to mention their strong defensive tools.
-DK : does have self sustain and good defensive options
-DH : Self heal, best defensive tools
-Mages : Only fire has such heal. The class has good defensive options.
-Lock : strong self sustain, not much defensive tools.
Well, seems like compared to ret paladin and dps shaman, it’s better to not play a hybrid DPS spec that has a healing spec. Quite sad.
Incorrect, but I think the illusion of this comes from the fact that hybrids have to actively heal themselves where mages and warlocks appear to just heal.
A shaman or Druid healing is obvious, you expect it, you can CC it. A warlock healing is just ongoing.
I still think in a 0-100 race or even over the course of any meaningful fight a shaman/druid can out heal a mage/lock pretty easily.
Also… they can heal others. Huge advantage.
In SL a Shaman has great off-heals too, drop a totem down or throw out a chain heal, your groups will love you.
1 fury 470 can solo kill king anduin . immortal slef healing
Laughs in resto affinity
Agrees in 3x blink traits
Did you just say that ret has it worse than others ?
how a dk aka 2 ds to full hp can even stand herself I dunno
Ret and dps Sham, WW are useless and are less tanky than non healing class. That’s what I’m saying.
Shaman yes, but I disagree about ret. in being singled out as if you say dk has cds despite non existent heal from DS, then so does ret.
Retri main self-heal ability is tied to using spenders, you cast Templar’s Verdict or Divine Storm 4x, you get 1 instant cast Flash of Light that heals you for like 20% HP. Read: Useless, unless you like to be kicked in Holy and then be unable to do ANYTHING. Word of Glory is talented and it’s either instant Flash per 4 spenders or 1 WoG per minute.
DPS shammies have it worse though. At least Flash of Light heals for semi-decent amount. Healing Surge snorts your mana and heals you for less HP than 1 auto attack deals.
20% is more than my deathstrike. Not only my DS uses 45 runic power for maximum of 7% heal. And if paladins count AMS as cd and IBF, so do I count bubble and the paladins toolkit.
Beast Mastery - Spirit mend? Talent to reduce cd of Exhilaration?
That 20% takes 4 spenders x 3 holy power. Most of which is generated by Blade of Justice (12y range, cd) and Crusader Strike (melee range…). And then you have to spend it with TV (again melee range) or wasting it with Divine Storm if there’s nothing you can hurt. And it’s that “boosted” instant cast which is stronger by 40%. “Normal” Flash of Light heals for about 12% HP, 31k heal at 400k total HP.
At least you cannot be kicked out of Death Strike and it gets better if you are taking damage. Why it’s still on runic power is a mystery to me though, as it creates instant problem “Why Blood DK cannot tank first”.
8% for my paladin @ ilvl 475. Heals 41k to my 520k hp.
