Hi im quite new to the Druid class, I’ve been looking at guides and such for feral druids but I’ve kinda noticed now that I’ve started doing little mythic content that everyone is complaining about my low dps and I’m quite baffled about it? What am I doing wrong I’ve got a ilvl 597 and 2 sets of the lynx armour maybe I’m not understanding how to play this class correct? Tried 2 different specs one wild stalker and druid of the claw. Plus playing solo feels like I’m too squishy or is that the intention with the scaling? Helpful tips or a good easy to understand guide would be appreciated
So what I would recommend to beginning Feral players is to learn the rotation especially snapshotting. On this spec you can’t press “Big Shiny Damage Button” and immediately give out top dps meter. This spec works completely off of builders and spenders. What you need to prioritize when learning rotation is to properly press right builders (for snapshotting) and trigger bloodtalons at the same time, combining it all together. I think it’s unrealistic to describe perfect rotation for feral on forums so I suggest you read the basics of this class and its rotation on wowhead or dreamgrove.gg (i.e. your task is to understand under what conditions which builders and spenders you need to press).
- Build combo points
- Activate Blood Talons
- Pop Damage Trinkets
- Pop Tigers Fury
- Use Rip
- Run away
10/10 strategy for tougher mobs in Delves anyway
I can recommend reading the method.gg post about feral druids in TWW.
It helped me a lot, especially when finding the build that I like.
Depending on the build your top damage abilities will shift.
Wildstalker druids are 100% bleed dependent, and you will want to always keep your bleeds up (you want the same as a DotC, but it wont be your sole top damage ability).
- Open with Rake, and keep it up on as many targets as possible.
- Keep up your Thrash bleed.
- Keep up your Rip damage in AoE with Primal Wrath or Rip in single target situations.
- Spend combo points with Ferocious Bite.
- Refresh all Bleeds when they have around 30% of their uptime remaining, due to the pandemic mechanic. (Pandemic rolls over your remaining damage, when applying your new dot)
- Use Tigers Fury immediately or you can reserve it for after the burst, if you are a Druid of the Claw, your decision.
A lot of the Druid players will tell you that you HAVE to run Bloodtalons, but its not 100% necessary. You can just as easily run Lions Strength.
I currently run m +4 at 595 and normally are second place without many problems.
