So….
Start the game with 80% dampening? I mean, obvious problems have obvious solutions.

Then warriors and rogues are OP. Because their defensive dont rely on self-heal. Unlike Paladins and DKs.
And you still havent solved the problem of a lock putting 4 dots on people and hiding in a pillar watching people die and insta-winning.
You cant really get away from this. The “holy trinity” exists in this game for a reason. ![]()
Actually, it very much does, not sure how much Warrior and Rogue are you playing.
There’s no such thing as “Insta-winning”. If the enemy team is unable to chase the lock down, then that is their problem. Lock has a wheelchair for mobility.
I didn’t say that this fixes 2DD/3DD mirror matchups, but saying that the problem is just self-healing or DoTs is incorrect.
Also, there’s no reason at all, why they (Blizz) couldn’t experiment with an unranked mode, figuring out what needs to be done for proper ranked.
Defensive stance. Ignore Pain… Evasion, Avoidance… you want me to keep going?
Yeah… I would love to play an arena like that. Chace the lock down. You got 20s cause if you dont kill him in that time, he kills you with out moving a finger.
Super engaging…
That is not what I said. What I said is that healers have a purpose. If you remove them, expect really degenerate gameplay in PvP.
Go ahead. They have roughly the same defensives and self-heals on CD.
Defensive stance isn’t even a standard defensive. It also reduces damage done, so using it is instead a tactical decision rather than a cooldown.
Ignore Pain is an absorb and it is affected by dampening.

I am not saying you don’t have a point. But it’s still not auto-win.

Fair enough, my fault then.
Imho too much healing and self-sustain is the #1 reason why pvp in retail sucks. The fact that you need to set up every kill with 15s chain cc just to kill through sustain is boring as hell and makes entry level enormously high.
Exactly.
Making healers really good at healing is fine in PvE, but in PvP it just leads to frustrations. IMO Blizz should make WoW PvP healers similar to how supports work in Overwatch or HotS. There, they aren’t pure healers, but DPS who have a little bit of healing/protection stuff. As a healer myself, I’d also much rather play as a quasi-support in PvP instead of a pure healer who can’t DPS properly.
Sure, why not. It’s a completely broken gamemode anyway. Breaking it a bit more won’t make anything worse ![]()

All I see is skill issue .

Last time I checked, DPriest and MW monks are the meta in PvP arenas. I guess your wish came true then.

It leads to frustrations in PvE too. Healers being too powerful means that enemies have to also be superpowerful too to challenge us (ie. oneshotting mechanics or requiring reaction time less than 1 sec)
