DPS: What is the most efficient offensive cooldown approach?

Hello,

I have been thinking about this subject for a while now and I have a question to experienced raiders only:

What is the best approach when it comes to pure single offensive DPS cooldowns with a longer cooldown, on bosses with little or no burn phases? To use them off cooldown which sometimes means only 1 or 2 are active at the same time during the boss fight, or should you wait until they are all ready and stack them up?

Thinking about Beastmastery Hunter perticulary, since that is my primary DPS class and spec.

Thank you.

Cooldown usage and cooldown stacking highly depends on the class, spec, build and encounter. I’d recommend you going to WoWhead or Icy Veins and looking at the Rotation sections for the specs you are interested in, and/or going to lorrgs./io (without the /, can’t post links), where you can see top logs from your spec on all raid fights and exactly when and how they used certain abilities.

Entirely depends on the boss and your cool down, most these days is to just use on pull. But if theres mechanics or early intermissions which push you off the boss sometimes its worth waiting, assuming theres a reward for waiting. But 95% of cases its pop on pull.

Only boss i recall sometime ago which you could of maybe argued holding your cds for was sludgefist, but even then personally I wouldn’t of done it.

Wings I use pretty much on cd unless there’s a burn phase in less then the cd

whatever will give best effects.

at the end of day what matter most if killing stuff effciently

it doesnt matter if you did overall 5k dps more but you cause posible wipe because dangero trash / add / boss phase didnt go down fast enough .
