DR versatility

Hey just a quick question for all the pvp players out there ( the ones that are left atleast)
Why do i see no people focusing on other stats besides Versa?
I know the trinket set gives a 40% boost to the offensive value of it but would it not make more sense to focus on a different stat after 30% versa because of DR on it?
The DR after 30% is 10% on each point versa after that and 20% when you reach 40%
Is the boost really that significant that the other stats dont matter?

vers was already the best stat for most people in bfa without the massive bonus we get nowadays. 10% reduction to effectiveness is not going to dethrone something that gets a set bonus like that.

haste is an exception because it can let you cast things that you would not be able to cast otherwise, or maybe crit for holy pala. but for someone like me, ehh. all the stats do is increase my damage.

30% Versality ∴ Damage/Healing done increased by 29.7% ( 37% in Arena )
30% Versality ∴ Damage taken reduced by 14.9%

35% Versality ∴ Damage/Healing done increased by 35.3% ( 49% in Arena )
35% Versality ∴ Damage taken reduced by 17.6%

Its not worth to go for smth else versality is always better because of the trinket passive

No no, 30% versa is 30% increase, 35 is 35, etc.

Your weird numbers are just due to the fact that your versa% is rounded while the tooltip doesn’t round the dmg done and taken part to the closest integer.

Also your numbers do not show any relevance whatsoever with the DR or the trinket set bonus, or you just computed it wrong because it is 40%.

A real explanation is as follows :

30% versa with the set bonus is 42% more damage and healing done for 15% less damage taken.

Any % above 30 works the same way, only the numerical value of versa (the actual points) give you 10% less % versa. From that you need to understand that if, below 30%, 100 versa is 1%, then above 30% 100 versa is 0.9%.

But if your char sheet shows, say, 40%, you do have 40%, which leads to 20% less damage taken and 56% more damage and healing done. Its just that on the way from 30 to 40 you needed more points than on the way from 20 to 30.

So, to answer why people don’t go for another stat, well, they would do that only if a point from another stat was worth more than a point of vers, given that despite the 10% DR to the point value you have a 40% increase to offensive value, plus a defensive value as well.

Pretty hard to beat that. Some classes with a ultra high scaling mastery pick mastery sockets and enchants instead of vers, but it’s not the majority.

I think the real answer here is that Versatility increases both damage AND healing . Considering most classes are pretty much hybrids right now and heal as good as a healer , you simply cannot pass-over a 30-40 % increase to your main healing ability , coupled with 30-40% damage across the board and some mediocre damage reduction .

Not sure why destro locks dont stack mastery tho . That thing is quite good , gives more damage and more damage reduction than versa , plus as destro you dont heal almost at all anyway .
