Dracthyr Skins

This might be a bit nitpicky, but it’s one of those little things that bothers me, and I just need to say it.

For the Dracthyr race, there’s red skin for the Red flight, blue for the Blue flight, and green for the Green flight. But there isn’t a proper dark brown or black skin option for the Black dragonflight.

I enjoy playing Augmentation Evoker because of the Black dragonflight abilities—I even keep Deep Breath. However, the dark skin option currently available looks almost blue! And when you check the wings, you can’t get that shaded red tone either.

I’d really love to see a true Black dragonflight skin added.

Okay, rant over. I genuinely hope the devs see this and consider it as feedback.

Isn’t that because Deathwing used all but black dragon genes in their creation?
Or am I recalling something wrong?

Neltharion used all of the dragonflight powers but cut off the Black Dragonflight powers when he locked up Adamanthia.
It wasn’t until we freed her that we got them back - how I’m unsure.

The skin colours Dracthyr use are not bound to swarms. You can be covered in green scales and still mostly use blue magic.

Oh buddy, the devs will never set a foot into this forum.

You can get pretty darn close, tbh.
-twirls around-

You are a blend of Dragon Essences, you are tube bred, you won’t look perfect.

To be fair, with the current colouring of the Black Dragonflight, you can get pretty close.

Of course, as you say, you can’t get the wing colouring right, but that’s primarily from the fact there’s only primary and secondary colours.

You might be misremembering, Neltharion didn’t put the Black Dragonflight essence in the Dragon Soul, thus making him essentially immune to it when his betrayal happens, which is where you might be getting confused. Dracthyr can use Black Dragonflight magic alongside all the others Flights.

Also responding on this character so there’s a rough idea of what a ‘Black Dragon’ Dracthyr can look like.

my Dracthyr warrior has the Exact colouring of the Dragonflight’s Black dragons scales. so i am not sure what you are missing. (look up Terathian on main site to see it yourself)

I cannot stress enough how important this is. I’ve seen a lot of people naming and colourcoding their dracthyr after existing flights when there’s no correlation between them.

Do any dracthyr actually have direct flight names? I can’t remember seeing one

They specifically do not, because to the shock and horror of everyone—they are not members of the flights.

Didn’t think so.
They can serve the Flights (like any chump really).
But yeah, they aren’t actually part of them.

I dunno, I’m pretty close to a black dragon in the primary scale colouring.

It would be so much better if we had that rich peach/rose colour for our wings like the vanilla black drakes had instead of the muted desert yellow we got.

For those saying you are a blend and you cant have the skin due to the power being stopped. Yes I agree you are a blend. But, if you look at Emberthal who has the correct colours of the black dragonflight which you cannot add to your character.

Where I quote Deathwing. And Emberthal, you will wield the essence of the Black Dragonflight to augment all those around you with my power.

Certain evokers were not a mix such as the three main dracthyr.

Sarkareth, my devastator, you shall rend your foes with the powers of the Red and Blue Dragonflight.

Viridia, my preserver, you shall heal our allies with the graces of Green and Bronze Dragonflights

I mean…I don’t think it gets much blacker than this points at character

The dragonswarms, which to be fair feels accurate after DF with its deluge of dragons.

Back when we first met her, there was no augmentation.
Sadly this is (again) a classical case of Blizzard going against their own lore because stuff needs to look cool.

Lies, I serve the White Dragonflight.

Its like that Bronze Dracthyr who joined the Timewalkers, really. (I think its in Thalsomething where the Bronze and Nether dragons are and where Valdrakken is placed)

Yea, he’s a Timewalker and yes, he looks exactly coloured like a Bronze Dragon, but he aint a member of their Flight, but he is a member of the Timewalkers!

Also you can almost make a perfect Infinite Dragon looking Dracthyr!
