This is a Stretch, u cant take the ability to Stab Someone with a Knife and Apply to it to every form of Combat ongoing on a Battlefield, if he had to actually blade v blade Fight the outcome may have not been the same.

At least it’s not as sensitive as Worgen transformations. You literally fart as a human and you instantly turn into a dog.
If you don’t mind looking like a ghostly Night Elf female, there’s Kalytha’s Locket. The transformation lasts for 30 minutes with a 15 minute CD, so you can have it up permanently. It will also cause you to stay as a Night Elf, even when in combat or flying (which looks funny)
Worgen dont need weapons - their claws and ferocity is enough but hey they need weapons too.
Stop playing worgen and dracthyr if u dont like shapeshifting

We are to dragons what dogs are to humans. A new breed of pets, used by a dragon to fight for him. And our leash just broke on the dude, setting us free.
Stop using dragon lore as a thing to prevent people from getting what they want. Dragons have almost nothing to do with how Dracthyrs work. We just have the same power source, but that’s it. Our bodies are used to work the way human bodies work more than a dragon. We have 2 arms, 2 legs, not 4 paws.
In cinematics, we even see Dracthyrs fighting with spears, using their ARMS, not clawing and fanging their way into a fight.
We don’t breath fire, we don’t have the lungs dragons have. We use magic and channel it through our mouths. When casting desintegration, you can see that the visage form casts it with its hand. It’s magic ffs, not a bodily fluid that we spit. It could just as well come from our toes.
The issue I have with people against it is… What exactly does it removes from you, if Blizzard gives this to the people who want it ? Why are you fighting so hard against it, when it won’t change a thing for you ?

Its alright saying “oh we arent dragons dont apply their lore to them”. By lore we shouldnt of ever had visage! It was later on added as a compromise for those who dislike animalistic races.
Drakthyrs arent susposed to be able to visage lol, its documented as a retcon and even shown in dialog with the “suprise” that we have a visage, its oki saying “lets ignore dragon lore” but drakthyr lore tightens the rope even harder in terms to the fight your having.
I think you will find most people screech against this because people are so fast to want everything and anything a elf, sure it affects no one implementing it, but you must reliese. That if they do it will stunt the required development on drakthyr.
Permanent visage is blizzards scapegoat to never expand the drakthyrs avaliable armour / colours / overall improvements.
Blizzard are currently forced to keep drakthyr as a race updated the moment the popularity shifts to never using it, blizzard will never go back and fix the race, they will never expand on its unique animations. People like you will blame “selfishness” before you reliese the true concern regarding this.
Your handing blizzard a cheap fix to a situation that removes their responsibility to build on drakthyr and wondering why tbe people who want drakthyr built on have a issue.
The moment this goes through, its animations are normalised and we lose the dragon animation. We are just a short ranged fire mage, the moment it happens u will reliese ur just a half baked fire mage quit the class, and the class the current popularity around it wanted will be already deleted.
I personally would much appreciate an option to stay in Human form even when casting.
And already I can cast Living Flame and Expunge in human form (and maybe more spells).
I can also glide in human form.
But you have to aknowledge.
Deep breaths ability would need redesigning.
Pyre would need redesigning.
Disintergrate would need redesigning.
Rescue and verdent brink would need redesigning.
Every ounce of use of the dragons mouth and wing use would need removing from both its drakonid and human form to cater to.
Glide would have to go.

Your asking for a entire animational rework to fit drakthyrs using foot and hand use only. They cant just have a class which magically super man forward randomly in animation itd look absolutely horrific in any public view of the game.
They will never support both simultaniously, we know they wont they cant even get chosen identity working properly in out of combat.
Your gonna reliese ur a fire mage, and quit for the same reason u didnt choose to play a fire mage.
Eh I wish druids with Glyph of Stars had a similar animation for Flap. It looks bad right now.
Leaning forward drifting is just a broken animation they never sorted out.

Back in like 2016, blizzard said the reason murlocs etc etc csnt happen is due to difficulty with transmog and players wouldnt be happy with the final problem.
6 years later of us saying Nope we want animalistic races, nope we want these options, nah we fine with it. Theyve done it. If they give us this, we prove them right, we wont see these races ever arrive cause we have shown the complete opposite to what we said.
Im ok with the compromise of.
Allow evoker to be played by other races.
However, if you do this to drakthyr, you end all potiental growth for the race, as u give rhem a cheap scapegoat to leave them behinf and never build on it
Just allow a select amount of races play evoker, so drakthyr can be continued to be worked on as a draconic race.
They can standardise them down to be base races and base animations, and leave the unique animations there for drakthyr instead of stripping out drakthyr to cater. Then we can wonder where everyone starts screeching that evoker feels like a short ranged fire mage.
They wont support both visage and drakthyr, they ultimately cut one out.
