Dracthyr visage form?

Hi, this is not a take or anything.
I’d like to ask just to be in the clear:

Is the blood elf male and human female the only intended models for the Dracthyr?
I was really hoping to see some other forms like Orc or Tauren on Horde, perhaps Worgen or Draenei on Alliance.

I really don’t mean to complain, I just can’t remember if they actually made any official statement on bringing us more visage alternatives or if this is what we get. Can anyone recall hearing some statement about this?

Yes.

I was hoping for the same thing too but probably it was too much work for them and they couldn’t be bothered. Imagine a Kul Tiran visage. How fabulous!

They’re not explicitly blood elf male and human female, they just use the same rigs. Yeah sure there’s similarity in body shape but other than that they’re meant to be their “own thing”. Would’ve been better had they had their own unique rig but oh well.

They clearly look like slightly modified blood elf and humans though. They could at least modify them more like goblins and vulpera that use the same animations but look really distinct from each other.

That’s why I said they’re meant to be their own thing but not really getting there. Using the same rig isn’t helping either.

They are their own race though and just resemble human and belf coz they use the same basic model. Probably why their drakthyr form is quite standard too.

Although could you imagine?? A gnome visage with a teeny lil’ drakthyr flapping about!!LOL

Someone on testing commented all you see are Elves everywhere and they are sick of it

I would imagine the current models are what we will get. Wowhead had done a huge breakdown of every customisation option available if you want to look through. I’m sure there are streamers/content creators that have covered it in various vods and youtubes as well.

I just wished they had used different rigs. While I like models, the male belf run animation is terrible, not a fan of the idle pose either. Same with the human female, both are so rigid.

The drake form is also just a repurposed dh/nathrezim demon form. That doesn’t bother me anywhere near as much as the visage forms though. I don’t play female characters and I frankly can’t stand the idle pose among many other things from the belf male rig.

ANOTHER QUESTION: Is the visage form working in the same way it does for Worgen? Because I don’t ever wanna see it if at all possible.

Seems like it’s the same as with worgen and you also can’t ride mounts as a dragon, so combat is dragon form only.

As far as I know, in the lore, the Drac’thyr were created 10,000 years ago by the black dragonflight. At the time, there were basically only humans and elves around, so there was nothing else to use for their visage form.

This is why they can only be evokers as well - 10,000 years locked away from the world, from civilization. They haven’t learned the ways of the warrior, the warlock, the rogue.

However, with time, they may learn how to be those things, and maybe even learn new visages. Right now, it doesn’t make sense for them to have an orc visage form, as they don’t even know what an orc is.

I also expected that they could be any race, but it is what it is. I am most disappointed with the male belf model. I’m getting sick of that model. On the other hand, the female model looks great imo.

By that line of logic, should they not appear more as night elves since that’s what the elves looked like back then. Illidan, Malfurion, Tyrande etc.

The body scales used by the visage form map perfectly onto every over race with no adjustments much like how the armour works on all races in game… Maybe in the future we will see new visage forms or Evoker opened up to other races.

im actually much happy about the Male visage form, rather it be the Elf’s body rather than the human body, which i dont like.

the dragons are known to mostly use High elf, human, and Half elf bodies. with of course one famous gnome Chromie.

Aside from the male belf rig, my only issue is the weird abs they have. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
They just jump at your face like BAM, abs.

Compared to say male belf(or any other male model), in which the texture blending is imo a bit bettter.

While I would love that, I don’t think we would get anything more than the current forms anytime soon.

I can’t stand being a belf, even if my belf visage form doesn’t appear it still wouldn’t feel right for me.

It’d be even worse if you appear in visage form when you see the login screen.

So in my case either I play female (would be a first, I only feel comfortable playing male) or I don’t play them at all.

I am definitely going ot have to make a male and a female to have a good play with all those customisation options.
