Draenei shaman questions

Even if I’m not actively role playing with a character I like to have a story and connection with them.

I’ve read about the Broken and such. It made me consider whether this character could have been perhaps taken in by an orc who was sympathetic and has sort of “picked up” orcish kind of ways. Including shamanism but perhaps other elements too. Love of their animals, maybe even learned some of the language?

I wanted to know how viable that idea could be, and where and when it would make the most sense to have occurred. MU Draenor?

I assume they’d have lived as outcasts hidden away somewhere and living carefully. Somewhat akin to the movie ‘Leave No Trace’ if anyone is familiar with that.

Would she keep her history quiet to other Draenei and perhaps those around her, i.e. if she was in Stormwind. Or perhaps could she even be trying to promote the idea that “not all orcs are bad” sort of thing, and is quite neutral?

Anywho, thanks for any ideas and advice!

Interesting concept. You’ll find a better answer from Draenei players than me, for sure, but i’ll give it a try. Simply 'cause Draenei and Shaman is the best combo i’ve ever had the pleasure playing with.

But essentially, your concept is sort of like what Nobundo could have been. I’d say it’s more viable in MU Draenor for sure considering in AU Draenor, the enslavement came rather quickly and instant.

In MU, one could reason the Draenei had a lot of time to recouperate as their ‘light’ was slinking away, and their faith was then put into other things. Maybe reading up on Nobundo’s story will help you?

Thanks for your thoughts! I do like his story. Trying to think of how it can be organically expanded.

I am not overly confident in orc/draenei lore, but I haven’t seen any confirmations that there were any orcs who actively protected draenei. Durotan was the most “infamous” rebel I’ve read about, and his ‘treason’ was pretty much just objecting to the draenei genocide and more or less subtly trying to avoid killing peaceful draenei. I might be misinformed, though.

Moden’s story is that of a zealous vindicator/paladin who lost his ability to wield the Light when the demonic orcish Horde rained red mist (and dreadful horrors) upon Shattrath city.

Moden narrowly survived the ordeal, but it would take years for him to recover, both mentally and physically, and he never quite regained his former physical strength nor his faith in the Light.

After years of wallowing in self-pity, hatred and self-deprecation, he was “saved” by a draenei shaman, who guided him into shamanism. This was a slow process, requiring Moden to let go of his negarive emotions and embrace the elements. It also made him look into the past of the orcs, and see what they used to be.
…What they might still be if not for demonic (and other insidious/sinister) influence.

He does not love orcs, but he knows they’re not all bad.
