When I was unlocking Lightforged Draenei, I was playing a Draenei myself and honestly, there is no reason why that trial should not work for a Draenei that the player is playing. It would be a free race change, yeah, but there are honestly not many differences between Draenei and Lightforged Draenei.
It is lore friendly and would be an amazing experience imo.
It’s a cool idea, but problematic to implement since they don’t have the same classes available. How would it work if you tried to do this with a shaman? Would it change your class, not be available, or be the only way to get a lightforged shaman.
Too many problems for a single race gimmick. Can always just headcanon that that’s what you did
It does seem like some allied races should just have been variations of original races via customisation options but that didn’t happen, so we are stuck with the system as it is.
You still have time to take advantage of the levelling buff until Wednesday if you wanted to level a Lightforged instead.
They can still change it. They could make it like in FF14, where you can select a race and within those, there are many Sub-Types, that one can choose from. It’d surely decrease Bloat in Character Creation Screen
Wow isn’t FF though. It doesn’t work like that. These are individual races. It’s like asking for Void Elves to be linked to Gnomes. They are individually set up races.
They could be categorized as Elf, and then have High elf, Blood elf, Nightborne, etc. as Sub categories on alliance and on horde.
Same could be done easily for orcs, trolls, and even humans with Kultirans, Gilneans, etc. It’d be less bloated than it is now imo, and it’d feel cooler / more individualized.
Same can be done for gnomes btw with Gnomes, and Mechagnomes
