At first I was not a big fan of it, it really felt clunky. But since I got all the dragon glyphs, oh boy! It feels sooo good to fly!
Would also recommend to finish all the advanced races. I really learned to fly properly while pushing for gold there. I enjoyed it a lot and had great fun.
Some advanced races you can easily finish with 4-5s faster then gold time. I missed some vigors hier and there and still got gold in some.
Could we get expert races where we can’t make a single mistake for gold?
Would love a challenge (and better rewards).
Pro tip: you can set up your Bronze Timelock at the start of the race to teleport after the last ring into the finish (Only worth it on some races).
I was flying an alt in Stranglethorn on my wheelchair mount and then the game crashed. I actually thanked it because I couldn’t endure that kind of flying any longer.
There are a few types of races and WQs, some are just straight up time trials, you activate and it counts down and off you go to do the circuit, some are just fly through these rings in any order and sometimes include a collecting aspect, there is also a race against others. Those require people to sign up and you wont get a race until they have enough contendors.
There should be a quest to take you round all of the time trial races, then it gives you an advanced version of the same quest.
Yeah, people underestimate how important the glyphs actually are. I decided to go out of my way to collect them all after finishing the first zone and I’m glad I did. Made flying for the rest of the expansion so much better. If you do it properly you can pretty much fly around near indefinitely and you have the added bonus of much higher travel speed than normal flying mounts. Will be incredibly sad if they ditch this system in future expansions.
Dragonriding in itself is a fun system! Way more fun and engaging than the old system and way faster to get from point A to point B.
But… I don’t think it should replace legacy flying completely, While regular flying is much slower. It allows hovering and constant flight without restriction without having to rely on vigor to take off.
Both of them have there place in the game imo.
Though my biggest gripe with the system is a winged race needing to ride a dragons to fly. There should be changes to that or atleast a skin over Dragonriding mounts to hide it.
