That’s kind of lame.
In Legion, each activity would grant a new color for your weapon: Dungeons, World Quests, PvP, Raids.
Now, don’t get me wrong, Legion was obviously an awful expansion, but this was done better.

There is one raid appearance and one PvP appearance
She just shared info with you. No need to be aggressive.
I still dont understand why there isnt a m+ dragonriding rewards, along with bunch of random epic customizations from rares/dungeons and whatnot .
Puny has 35,000 achievement points.
This means she knows how the game works. She didn’t link the gladiator mount thinking it’s just a regular PvP mount, akin to your average vicious saddle mount.
No. She knew full well it was a prestigious mount for the top 0,5% of the PvP ladder, one no one here will ever get, and she deliberately chose to include it in her post to prove a point that yes, in fact, you can get mount skins through PvP.
This is a mischievous, disingenuous argument, and it was legitimately met with the full force of my righteous outrage.
Here’s a thought. Put in effort if you want the glad skin and you can get it. Nothing is stopping you except for you. Stop being so salty.
This is the equivalent of locking a mount skin behind a “Top 10 first guilds to take down current raid in Mythic difficulty” feat of strength, and telling me: “It’s a manageable goal, just work for it, it’s available to everyone!”
No. It’s not.
It’s a reward only a minuscule amount of players will ever get.
This doesn’t count as content accessible for everyone, because it’s far beyond the reach of the average player.
In fact, it’s also beyond reach of the ABOVE average player, because “duelist” is already top 3% of the ladder and it’s still nowhere near gladiator level.
So is KSM mounts but I don’t see you making a post about that?
It’s a gladiator mount. There’s one every season, I don’t get what you’re complaining about. Why not make a thread to remove all glad mounts from the past because it’s the same?
The thread isn’t about whether gladiator mounts should or should not exist.
It’s about providing various ways to unlock new colors for the dragon mount, instead of locking every single one of them behind renown/reputation.
For example: unlocking a new mount color for completing ~30 Mythic dungeons, or ~50 arenas games, and maybe one for achieving 100% Dragon Isles map completion.
I don’t think this is an unreasonable request, and I’ll come back to my original comparison: Legion artifact weapon recolors worked pretty much like that.
There are other ways besides renown. Mythic clear of last boss or Gladiator.
Yet you complained when someone linked that there’s a gladiator skin for the mounts.
Then make a suggestion about that instead of just whining when someone links you where to get different skins that you asked where to get.
The argument put forward by those that enjoy mythic content is that gear progression should not be available to those whom do not do the content?
“Why do you need higher level gear, when you only do open world”
Now, I’ll admit that as a player that I agree with that sentiment, that rewards should reflect what you choose to do in game, and if I don’t want the challenge of end game mythic content then I don’t need the high level gear, I’m only questing.
However that argument works both ways, if you play for end game, the bling content that is relevant to open world, should be got in open world. It should never be locked behind group content as it serves no purpose to group content.
Now I get some prestige mounts, even time gated, I listen to the arguments of those who enjoy different content and yes a couple of rewards to remind of your prowess, I can accept that. However majority customisation options, no open world all the way.
You mean, like I did in the original post?
I guess reading a 3 sentences long post can be quite a challenge for some. I’ll try to be more concise next time.
Because pretending that you don’t understand the true meaning of a request just so you can dismiss it is disingenuous.
Yes, reaching Gladiator grants you a mount skin. Great. This can’t be achieved by 99,5% of the playerbase, you understand this, and yet you choose to act as if this piece of content was genuinely a reasonable goal for everyone to pursue.
It’s not. I know it, you know it, and yet here you are acting as if it were.
You did?
Title : Dragon skin colors can only be obtained through renown reputation?
There’s not a single suggestion. You just said that in legion you would get skins from other things. Go back and do it right. If you want it to be a suggestion you could say “Why not unlock color X by having …” etc. and give suggestions.
You asked a question and it got answered. Stop acting like a child and grow up.
I am happy how it is.
There is no “Fomo” (eventhough I think that term is nonesense) to be found in doing “high” endgame content now.
Nobody is forced to do M+ or raid or PvP if they’re only after appearances for their dragon.
(Was a big complaint for ALOT of ppl btw)
Ah, sorry, my mistake!
I thought we were talking about the thread, but obviously, we were merely discussing the TITLE of the thread.
Silly me.
Well then, let’s lock all forum threads as soon as “an answer” is provided.
It’d be a shame if we happened to have discussions on the forums.
True, instead, they’re forced to farm renown or reputation.
Same thing, different flavour.
Your first post is a continuation on the title. Stop pretending otherwise.
You made a comparison (we got this in legion we don’t now) not a suggestion. Learn the difference.
Yes, that the last season rewarded nothing for open-world, yes and the development team has promised they won’t overlook us so much in future.
Personally I am okay with all rewards being open in all gaming styles, everyone has vastly different tastes, and multiple options is always a plus.
However I am thinking that is very “ready player one” where individual gaming is catered for (smiles)
And you have the audacity to ask me to “Stop pretending”.
Meanwhile, you’re pretending as if the comparison didn’t obviously imply a suggestion.
I compare X to Y - it is implied that I want X to work a bit more like Y.
Again, I know this, you know this - you just like to pretend that you don’t so that you can make a point.
This is exactly the same behaviour as Puny earlier.
A suggestion would mean you say “if we do X we should get Y”. So far after multiple replies you’ve only given the X part. What’s the Y part?
You’re the one who wants more dragon skins, give some suggestion then. Colors. Armors. Tails. Heads. Hair.
Literally anything but what you’re doing.
That is how the current system is setup so yey for them listening (momentarily).
Multiple options with multiple unlock conditions is fine, as Puny linked before there are options. They just require alot off work .
I am unsure what you mean with this, because the game bases so much around Endgame group content, it’s nearly impossible to call WoW an single player targetted game (like OSRS, etc).
