Dragonflight Best Expansion Of All Time

We’re talking about gaming here. Not basic human nature.
So in regards to gaming: They do change. All the time.

If I just look at myself: I’m a different gamer than I was in vanilla. I’ve definitely changed.
Even going back to something like WoD. I’m a different gamer than I was back then as well; the change less extreme of course.

Gamers are always selfish people where their point of view >>>> everyone else’s. That has been the #1 whine since the dawn of time.

Im talking about a system that penalizes those who don’t get lucky with a leggo. But that does not matter, because it did not penalize you personally.

And if you extend that attitude to today, you get what we have: Rejecting in LFG paladins with out the leggo. And that happened in Legion too.

So no. People dont change.

Legion / WoD / WOTLK

I remember some disgruntlement about having to do PVP for the Cloak quest-line.
Thankfully that is one lesson they seemed to learn and not forget almost imediately.

I did grumble a bit about that myself although I don’t think I was posting on the forums at that time. You had to win two different battlegrounds. One in a mine and one at a temple ( think (not done them since). I won one of them first time (as if I was there single handedly destroying the Horde - I had no idea what was going on so thankfully I didn’t hinder the group so much that they lost) but the other one took me 12 goes I seem to remember.

For me it’s somewhere in the middle. Not as good as Legion, but after BfA and SL, I have very little to criticize about DF besides perhaps the crafting system and forced GL in raids. However a big plus of DF in my opinions is the gearing system.

I’ve been playing it non stop and if I could find a way to not go to work, until next expansion comes, so I could have more time to play it, I would.

Raiding Dragons, feels a lot more realistic than an oversized NPC, that should be the same height as our characters, by normal standards.

I’m anxiously waiting to see, what my characters will get, in their weekly vault.
I’ve been trying to complete the Amirdrassil LFR on all of my 25 characters, level 70, but time is a giant obstacle
Not to mention, I tend to go initially, with the ones, I like the most, leaving, many behind, like my Goblin Rogue or my Tauren DK.

Cheers.

After BfA and Shadowlands, I was rather burned out from the story perspective so I didn’t join DF until recently. And it’s OK I guess, it’s a whole heck of a lot better than BfA and Shadowlands, but then again getting your eyes dug up by a rusty spoon is more enjoyable than BfA and Shadowlands were.

But that being said, the narrative is rather shallow and the dialogue is a bit cringe at times. And I swear if I have to hear “together” or “family” one more time, I’m going to lose my last marble. Makes me wonder if this was written by Vin Diesel as a tie-in to Fast and the Furious

Live by the sword dyeth by the sword!

Not a fan. It started pretty solid but went downhill very fast. The raids were great i give them that but everything else was kind of meh.

The story is so unbelievably boring and alliace heavy that I didnt even bother to do a lot of the quests in the latest patch. The world events are just super annoying, all of them. I was never a fan of leveling in retail but in DF it is such a PITA. I also miss Challenges like visions or MT.

So all in all i would say slightly worse than BFA, but better than SL.

Not the best. It was super fun to play, and I do mean the questing, the classes, the little moments here and there and the alt friendliness was all top notch
BUT
The story and stakes were cabbage, it felt like episode of My Little Pony where it was done to beat the puzzle of the week

It’s not an expansion that I feel is terrible, but outside of dragonriding/dynamic flying, nothing really feels innovative or fresh to me. There is too much button bloat again for some specs, the profession system is unnecessarily bloated and restrictive, and the story writing isn’t engaging me.

I do like the Dracthyr (and play one), but it feels half-heartedly done. I’m perplexed that the transmog options for a new race are so extremely limited when so much emphasis is otherwise put on transmogging. If you main a Dracthyr, there’s a whole “end game” (I use the term loosely here) pillar removed.

Balance changes also strike me as erratic and inconsistent, but that’s not a new thing.

I enjoyed Legion much more, for a variety of reasons. That was probably my favorite expansion where I consistently had the most fun and wasn’t exhausted by it by the end of it.

The gameplay and systems have been fantastic dragonflight kinda feels like a modern wow vanilla simple yet interesting and fun to play looking forward to the war within now.

Yes i also pre purchased i know… i know guilty

Agree! I loved DF so much. Also look beautiful zones and fun play.

I’m started play WoW since TBC. What I saw other expansions.
I hated WoD and SHD so bad.

Once MOP was my fave expansion. But now DF is new my fave than MOP!
DF>MOP>Legion>BFA

If BFA had dragon flights systems it would be a close one but azerite and artifact power ruined that expansion for me.

War within looks like its gonna be a BFA 2.0 but with dragon flight core systems i can only see wow getting better with this world soul saga. When metzen mentioned that northrend return i just wanted to pre purchase all 3

I never understand these kinds of comments.
“I didn’t do the quests because I hate the story.” Then how do you know you hate the story?!

I hate this book so I didn’t read it.

I like the original four zones - big, bright, airy spaces. Decent music and visuals.

I sort-of approve of Dragonriding, though I think the decision to withhold normal flying for so long was inexcusable.

I got a couple of chuckles out of the Wrathion-Sabellion rivalry.

That’s all I have to say about Dragonflight that is positive.

World content was cut by 80%+, allegedly in response to whining from instance players, even though that makes no sense at all, with cheap cardboard and aggressively un-fun “Public Events” - with the approximate shelf-life of bread - as the only mode of world progression. This puts it down with Warlords at the bottom of the stack for me.

Characters are awful. Story is lame. I am genuinely bummed by what they did to Kalec, whom I always regarded as a basic Good Guy. Stamping rainbow tattoos on the forehead of My Little Ponies to serve The Message was as pleasant, and as effective, as a hangnail.

The whole Rares thing in the Reach and the Cavern makes no sense and manifests disordered thinking.

The Emerald Dream was such a disappointment. :frowning:

I did all the quests up to 10.2.5 hence the latest patch remark. I really disliked them. Wasnt that hard to understand?
EDIT not going to torture myself through the gilneas and amirdrassil quests there is just no way.

Legion> BfA > DF > MoP for me gameplay wise

MoP was disc priest pinnacle but disc was way too OP back then,
Legion gave me best Spriest, Arcane mage, Fire mage and arms warrior [*] experience. Damn arms was brutal back then.
