Dragonflight Class talent tree headstone spec powers

Let’s play a game: What do you think will be the headstone(starting) powers for each spec in the Class talent trees for DF? We’ll see when they are ready to be previewed who was right.

I’ll go first for Paladins(you can do multiple classes if you want):
Retribution - Hammer of Wrath
Protection - Divine Shield
Holy - Word of Glory

In other news, i got bored and made the class tree for paladins to compare after Blizz releases theirs and see how close i was. xD
You can guess how close %-wise i am to what Blizz will release too

P.S. If some good sanitarian could post the image, please do!

Thanks a lot!
What do you think would be the spec powers for any given class? The ones starting the trees.

Take what the game now calls signature abilities of a class, the ones listen then you look at your spec, it’ll be the most useful one of those. Probably with 1 or 2 of the others at the end of the tree.

Well they could be multiple powers for each spec, what do you think would be more likely for paladins, for example?

Kinda hard to do this stuff for DH’s lmao… they barely have abilities in common between the 2 specs.

I bet Divine Shield will stay baseline considering it is unlocked via quest in Exile’s Reach and I doubt they want to change that quest. Maybe prot first node will be Blessing of Protection.

Guessing for mage is kind of hard, as they still need like 10 abilities to unlock until level 10 and there aren’t many fire abilities that are class wide right now so guessing what they’re gonna bring there is a bit like shooting in the darkness, but here’s my guess:

Arcane - Counterspell
Fire - Fireball
Frost - Frost Nova

I’ve looked into that when making the Class tree cause i didn’t remember exactly if i got it there or not, but apparently it doesn’t come from that:

When you first start your Paladin you will only have one ability, [Crusader Strike]. This ability deals Physical damage to a target and grants you 1 Holy Power.`

At level 2, you will learn [Shield of the Righteous], an ability that uses Holy Power to slam a target with your shield.

At level 3, you will learn [Judgment], an ability that strikes a target with Holy damage.

At level 4 you will learn your first heal, [Flash of Light], a quick-casting healing spell.

At level 5, you will learn [Hammer of Justice], an ability that stuns a target for a few seconds.

At level 6, you will learn [Consecration], a spell that deals damage to all targets in its area.

At level 7, you will learn [Word of Glory], a spell that uses Holy Power to heal a target for heavy amounts.

At level 8, you will learn the second rank of [Judgment], which makes your Judgement deal 50% more damage.

At level 9, you will learn [Lay on Hands], a long cooldown spell that heals you or a target for 100% of your maximum health.

I had to use Word of Glory though… but idk, they may change it. Not much i could get from Holy as identity spell there.

Not sure how useful Fireball would be to the others, but the other 2 look good.

They might make some new stuff for cases such as these.
I know DH’s need it for sure.

No every class has something they learn from a quest on Exile’s Reach. It’s the class ability you’d usually learn at level 10 otherwise. For mages It’s Polymorph, for Shamans it’s Ghost Wolf, for paladins it’s Divine Shield (etc.)

Ah it’s that ghost quest, i remember now. thanks!

I didn’t check the DK or Druid skills that they get from Exiles reach… i wonder if any of them are in the new trees.

Well DKs don’t go through Exile’s Reach so there’s that.

For druids it’s Travel Form.

Was wondering if they do as i wrote that. xD

Well DKs learn Death Gate from a quest, but seeing as it is a non combat utility I’m pretty sure it won’t be on the tree.

DHs have a few abilities they learn from quests but besides Metamorphosis it’s all a mess. Like there was a quest to learn Eye Beam where you kill a demon and take his eyes. In SL the quest stayed the same except now it gives a different ability. Seeing how they don’t mind changing those without giving new context I doubt it’s worth thinking too much about it.

Interesting topic! And well done on the paladin class tree mock-up! :100:

For warriors I think the abilities are gonna be:
Fury - Berserker Rage
Protection - Ignore pain
Arms - Execute
They all fit the theme of their spec and are currently available to all specs as baseline, just like the death knight ones.

Those seem on point, they fit the specs well thematically.

Hopefully we can get other previews soon, today marks 3 weeks since the first 2… it’s been too long. :joy:

For sure, it’s not fair of them to give us two and then nothing for weeks. But hopefully Alpha will be released shortly so we can get into all of it.
