Dragonflight has been discounted 50%. Isn’t it too soon after launch for 50% discount? Do they have fewer players than expected?
This is 10th promotion since launch. Dragonflight is like an almost rotten fruit right now, expiry date approaches hence discounts come non-stop.
jep to early and i guess not as much player as accepted
This expansion has had discounts, trials, trials with discounts, since like the week after it launched.
Take that how you will.
wait few months and you will see Diablo4 on sale, does that mean it did not sell well enough?
In the case of dragonflight blizzard has actually admitted its not sold as well as other expansions.
And the amount of promotions the expansion has had since launch goes to show that.
They did however say player retention was up.
Of course that was pre 10.1 so im curious to see how many players this patch kept.
Using the logic of that one guy: How dare they!! I paid full price for this expansion and now they just give it away to others for almost free!!
Who cares? We all know that the failure of SL affected sales of DF and people just haven’t come back because once bitten twice shy.
I log in a couple of times a week but I’ve been bitten by the Hogwarts bug and most of my gaming time is taken up with that. Knew it would happen as soon as I saw the game was being made in 2020 though lol.
Well yeah, this game is great, but people didn’t buy it. It’s not that people quit the game, people don’t buy. You can see this all around youtube
problem is, the games lost so much goodwill over BFA and SL even when DF has recieved large amounts of positive feedback, Players arent still biting in some cases, these 2 expansions and the law suit both caused alot of players to leave and not really look back, so blizzard is attempting to hook them back in.
It isnt that the game hasnt sold well enough, its the fact SL Launched with 12million players, and DF Saw 6 million, thats Halving the playerbase over 2 years, so Yes. blizzard likely are alittle concerned to the real depth of damage done.
however the expansions been said to have higher retention then priors, which is some positivity, meaning the players who did return they’re seeing less flake off, so obvious improvements made, but given they’re seeing more confidence in terms fo Sub length. they’re going to cut the price of expansions etc etc to drive more in. as long term subs will always bring in more then the 1 time box price players pay.
This is a good idea, even with this sale I think I may buy it.
To be honest i think the sale can only be a good thing. I’m one of those that quit at end of SL/DF release and did not buy the expansion. I had my doubts on DF and decided not to buy it. It was only because of the free trial, 50% discount and that i got 7 days free play all at the same time at the start of May that i decided to give it a try and ended up buying DF.
I’ve actually enojoyed DF but after only a month i’m starting to feel bored. The content quickly dried up for me and from what i read that’s how quite a few people feel. I pretty much only log in twice a week now, when the quests are up and lockouts reset but even those don’t seem to have much purpose or rewards.
Still w8ting for diablo 4 50% so i can get that mount
Nobody wants to stay subed in this poop expansion.
I think I’ll wait for 67% off.
Talk for urself.
M+ is boring, pvp is poop, casuals are crying all over the forums. Yet everybody thinks this is a good expansion. Get off that hype train already.
Just wait for some streamer like Asmongold to speak about how bad the DF was and everybody will suddenly change their minds.
So soon? It’s been more than 6 months since launch LOL. Also, this is not even the first big sale since then…
Who cares if it’s late or early. It (hopefully) means more players. Which is nice whether we’re at 12 million or 500,000.
I do love how every discount or promotion has to be Blizzards doom.
It can’t just be, oh nice it’s on sale, tell your friends, and/or those that tried the free weekend of DF. I haven’t seen the free trial weekends for years of an expansion and I think they are a great initiative. Last time I actually remember seeing them was Mists of Pandaria.
Just yesterday a friend was thinking of returning to WoW and was like but the price puts me off. And another friend explained it’s just gone on sale again. So they are probably going to buy it now.
Especially considering players asked Blizzard for years to have yearly sales and stuff. Now they have it, and people are turning into Doomspeakers.
Sheesh.
