I shall continue in my blissful ignorance and continue to play WoW because I like playing WoW.
When I don’t like playing WoW I shall do what I do with everything else I stopped enjoying and just stop.
Which is why if he says the WoW numbers are a disaster people should listen.
The video was also made way before D4.
Obviously disagree with his diagnosis of blaming Shadowlands (or BFA lol). However he probably has a better idea than people who log into a zone where players are sharded together from all over the game and go, wow there are people, the game can´t be dead!!

Truth be told, they’re far from only ones. T&E, MrgM, Hazzelnuttygames, Kelani, etc… all obviously work for Blizzard in advertisement in one way or another.
That said, I still follow them sometimes for the news. MrgM has best news channel and Hazzel has the best raid guides imo.
Theres nothing to do in DF for casuals? Are you being serious? DF is literally one of the most friendly expansions for casuals, there are tons of side activities and gearing never have been so easy to the point its actually a little ridiculous how very accessible it is for everyone, not even mentioning how accessible is whole raiding/m+ for everyone who will want to do this content. Really wth you are talking about…
Like 12 years ago everyone was crying wow is too easy and only for casuals (it was around the time when LFR was added)
The last 2 expansions almost everyone was crying Blizzard is focusing only on hardcore raiders and not even take care for casuals/standart players, forcing them to do hardcore content
And now, with DF which is almost true casual fest, you gonna say theres nothing to do for casuals? Really wtf 
Honestly there really isn’t.
Raid and M+, but that is basically every wow expansion.
There no real social activities, nor any minigames, there is no housing with a crafting system attached.
Events are old, outdated and lackluster.

There is lol, some of you guys sounds really like you didnt even played it… Or describe what exactly you mean by “social activities” you mentioned
You have got in DF for example community feast event, grand hunts, dragonbane keep siege, elemental storms event, bunch of Dragonriding races, Fyrakk assaults, Storms fury event, Forbidden Reach/Zaralek rares hunt, snail racing minigame, sniffenseek digs and many other stuff…
In 10.0 what they had wasnt amazing, but they had stuff to offer.
10.1 does not have anything to offer really which is a real shame. 10.1.5 looks to be filling in some gaps so im hopeful for that. But i also fear it may be too little too late as ive finished with the little that 10.1 provided.

They’ve basically reduced WQs though to twice a week. I’m not really sure how those would have been social.
What do you feel SL offered that DF doesn’t?
I would love player housing though.
Here’s my super casual experience. Im american so im 6 hours behind EU so lets get that out of the way first. Second i bought the epic expansion thing and i been leveling my paladin in the starting zone for DF and i’ve seen a handful of players running around, not many but a few and this was around 3-4am my time which is typically when the game is totally dead so that alone is impressive. i havent really done much yet but so far i dont think the game is dead.

You didnt know 10.1 have new zone? New questlines and WQs? New raid? New faction? Gear upgrade system? New world events? New dragonriding update? And minor updates (classes, new pvp/pve season, professions etc.)?
Honestly if you call this nothing to offer, then I really dont know what do you expect - in case you are being serious and not just trolling…
The new zone was empty after like one week.
I don´t think you understand why people play MMORPGs, but that is okay, because apparently neither does Blizzard.

Yes it did have a new zone and a questline. Thats the most basic expectation for a patch so im not going to praise it for that.
But playing the content? Realistically on Wednesday youll do fryakk, under fire, the sniff thing, and the world quests. This takes around 2 hours.
Now the map is devoid of any activities until Saturday when you have around 15 - 20 minutes of world quests.
Now wait until Wednesday again for more to do.
That is 10.1

Ye, I play this MMORPG for like 17 years, because I enjoy its aspects it has, but I apparently dont understand why I even play it… but it undoubtedly seems you have the patent for it and you know exactly why people play MMORPGs - would you be so willing then and can you enlighten it to me?
Yes, that is also after 18 years since wow release, by the way, one of reasons (usually main) why people keep returning to the game - because it usually have new zone, new questlines, new raid etc. Its your thing if you call this basic expectation or you call it anything else
The problem with it is the fact it provides little to nothing to do.
There is no point in a zone if it does not house content, and the offerings of 10.1 are extremely poor.
3 hours of content a week is just not good enough. In 9.1 i could do that daily.

I think they do this, because they are very confident that people, who buy it, will stay, but getting people to buy is hard. Also, a lot of their players may not buy, bc they spent alrdy a lot on diablo 4, or maybe they even wanna transition diablo 4 players to wow now
You are aware of that you dont have to stick only to 10.1 content and that you have a choice, right? I still find alot of stuff to do in previous patch content I didnt finished yet - if you didnt min-maxed everything from previous patch content yet, you are free to do previous patch content aswell like me or anyone else
