Dragonflight is the most barebone, unfun and unrewarding expansion to date for me

Actually have to agree with this one. The lore so far is sparse and shallow. I miss the intertwining covenant stories and regular lore chapters through renown. The few we got in Dragonflight were disapointing.

Yeah, I know it was “worse” before BfA, but BfA was what got me invested in WoW lore for the first time, because you were actually living the story in the game with the war campaign / jaina campaign etc. SL even topped that witht the Covenant Campaigns that continued in every patch, with DF we seem to be back to “zone stories” with not much overarching story after you’ve reached max level.

Thats not timegating also the community have to thank that to themselves, why? Becausr everyone was complaining that blizzard gave them daily stuff to do not to be left behind. So ye its all on the community its their fault simple.

Old content is just as relevant as new is. Achievements, pets, mounts, gold… This game is endless.
13 playable classes, just go ahead. You can spend so much time you dont even fell you have time to go to work.
I cant see how this game has nothing to offer.
Maby its just not for you mate.

You have a fair point here and there are a large number of players struggling with this, but its not only this change some are having issues with. For six years players were also used to logging in and going after AP, Azerite and Anima. It gave them something to work towards on a daily basis. Pre these we had other activities to look forward to and one of them that is glaringly missing now for the last two expansions is Archeology. A fun activity with some nice rewards. And even if we go further back to MoP and Cata we had a much larger number of faction dailies to do. Right now the only dailies I can find in game is for Tuskar and Centaurs.

So yes you need to find your own entertainment, but beyond the m+ and pvp bg hamster wheel. There is not really that much content to cover and keep you busy.

Well ofc there are more to do in Shadowlands since it’s an entire expansion and Dragonflight is only 10.0.5, we don’t really know what Blizzard will give us later on.

I can see that you play a lot but just up to a certain level, perhaps it’s time to join a guild that raids and do mythic+ that will consume your time and give you the rewards you are looking for?

What would you like to do?
logging out and having fun in another game is a viable solution, you seem to only play WoW…i dont want to do that, 2-3 hours for a weekly quest is more then enough for me (could be reduced to 1h to be honest), i wont grind paragon reps, i wont do all world quest. theres games i want to play other then wow, this expansion is pretty good for me.

So it’s like any other wow expansion lol. Doing some weekly stuff, dungeons and raid all over again.

tho i see more people saying that me thousand included season 4 shadowlands blasted this season and content away.

The classes balance isn’t there the talent system sucks the professions system we were promised we didn’t get only JC and Pot making sells.

Personally i miss BFA. The Mechagon patch was so fun.

Its just a legion wanna be without the artifacts and legendarys still 3 star system but worse executed with loads of bots abuseing the system selling rank 2 for nothing and rank 3 they legit bot down so people that craft them can’t earn back the gold they spend to craft them.

Blizzard cares (0%)

The WQ reset change is quite a sizable one, and before WQs, we have had daily quests since BC.

It’s not so much “Relying on Blizzard to set daily tasks”, as if we need a to-do list to do anything, it’s just that there’s no “Bite sized” content (The sort of thing one can pick up or drop whenever they feel like it) left once the biweekly two hours of world questing are done, and the regular quests are all done as well.

What irks me most of all is the “Daily chores”-line the supporters of this change have, you have the option to (Wait for it…) not do world quests, i have the option to… oh wait, the map is empty now, guess i can… meander around, mining (Annoying with Dragonriding, especially in vigor-regenning shores), looking for treasures (Ditto), log off or something, yay.

Just because you don’t like all the content that is offering the Open world that does not make it non-existent. I personally haven’t done Open world so much since Legion. BFA and SL Open world was basically dead to me.
In DF I do so many things it is mind boggling. I really enjoy the freedom of DF. I can do what ever I want when ever i want. For once I have the incentive to do War mode since its introduction and I am quite happy.
I really like the open world right now. It can be improved here and there but for once I don’t feel forced to do things.

I really hope this never returns. It and War/Titanforge are one of the worst systems added to WoW. I don’t want to farm something constantly. I want to be done at some point and call it for the day. Blizzard saw that bigger portion of the player base hated the 2 systems.

But it isn’t. Have you forgotten how alt unfriendly was SL for a really long time? Have you forgotten how the Maw could be done only for a limited time because of the Eye of the Jailer? Have you forgotten how we could only walk there? Have you forgotten how we couldn’t switching the covenants was really bad at the beginning so a lot the story was locked?
Have you forgotten how BFA still had War/Titanforge? BFA and SL had some of the worst systems.
DF has it faults but it is nothing like SL or BFA.

Can’t get my head around some of the negativity towards this expansion. Everyones entitled to their own opinion but when you’re saying there’s nothing left to do in the game and yet you’re complaining that some things take too long, then that’s just strange.

So, like many previous posters have said, you want the game to be all open right from the off, so you can burn through it, and then jump on the forums to moan there’s nothing to do now.

Wow can never be perfect for all the people who play it because everyone has different expectations, play styles and available time to participate in it. I get that you probably play a lot but you have to be realistic about expectations when you’re dealing with a game that is trying to keep so many other players happy.

Just look at all the posts from the people who play casually - and there are a lot of them, nobody can deny. They love the fact that they are no longer tied into unpractical lengthy grinds that they feel they have to keep up with, just to keep their gear relevant, or ensure they are able to play the next bit of content when it comes out.

New stuff has been added into DF for players to compensate for the deliberate lack of temporary power in this expansion, like the BFA necklace, or Covenants that we had in Shadowlands. The expeditions stuff, such as rock climbing, rafting photo’s and dragon racing. You can’t really claim the expansion is nothing new for a progressive game.

There’s also the promise of six patches of new content for the first year road-mapped. Is that not trying to keep the content-burners happy?

Yes, you still have the grinding elements in the game, but so do all MMO’s. That’s the only way Blizzard can deal with the content caners that burn through content so quickly otherwise. Wow is a business, and businesses are here to make money, just like everyone else. And that’s the monthly sub that they need to encourage us all to keep paying.

For me, this expansion is the best since Wrath. I’m more than happy with what they’ve given us. But, just like everyone else, that’s my opinion and I know people will disagree with me.

I also like the biweekly WQ/quest change.
The only thing i may bring from SL is the daily calling. It was not hard and was not mandatory on a daily basis. I could have done 3 callings in 1 day if I wanted.

Since you said we can share opinions:
For me content like torghast is missing. Like, sure, mage tower is back and I’ve done two challenges in total. Buut I’m honestly not enjoying it that much, plus if i want to have a better chance I have to hit 70 on my alts.
Visions, torghast, something that can be done solo/ in a party can be a really fun time sink. Oh and dungeons & affixes reeeeeallly need to be looked at. Otherwise I honestly like it

My point is that when WQs were daily, people who didn’t like world quests could opt to skip them (The late-stage rewards are all cosmetic in DF, so “I have to do them!” is a moot point, anyway), but now they’re gone, the people who did like them don’t have a choice, no more WQs until Saturday-afternoon.

I’m outgearing heroics, mythic+ and organized raiding are too demanding (I’ll decide what spec my character is and when i play, thanks.), so “Go do some other content” isn’t a good argument, either.

It’s the choice being taken away that stings the most, if that happens to anything else, people cry bloody murder, but here they’re applauding it.

Everything is optional atm and eventhough many players asked for it, it doesn’t seem to be working well. The borrowed power from Legion still feels best to me. You can get it done by running all kinds of content of which none were obligated.
Though i have no evidence, i still believe it was mostly the highest content players that complained about it, cause it wasn’t that easy to switch to the fotm class.

For me it didn’t matter much since i never played at the highest level of content. A bis leggo or fully filled up artifact weapon made little to no difference.

The cosmetic rewards so far are underwhelming and well…they’re ugly. :man_shrugging:

My opinion is that I now get more to do other things in my life and that I can log on WoW when I feel like it and to me that’s really good.

i was goin to reply with: “no bla bla bla” but is right every ppl could have his opinions. But this NO. NONONONONONONONO. Shadowlands was just a pile of rubbish. And a slightly better 4th season didnt mend the horrible previous period.
Please.

I think that Veoria is talking from the side of the non-big 3 people. They prooobably liked the fact that they were far from done 2 months into the expansion compared to now. Just trying to present a point of view.

(I teeeechnically disagree but I can see why they’d feel that way)
