Unfortunately, not having something to do is pretty much an Exit moment in the video game space. What some people called ‘‘Chores’’ is pretty much retention systems, most of the time.

Sometimes players must be forced to interact with content but if the content that we have to interact with sucks we get Shadowlands as a result.

You can’t give players extreme freedom then they’ll be like “where content?”

This is why the Box of many grinds should have been Account Wide. You could have tried all your alts which upgrading this and which ever one you enjoyed the most could then be used to do all the achievements etc.

That box was i think implemented in season 3. We had to climb the levels in s1 on every char and do it every week to get our legendary in S1. Most people start on 1 char an expansion. I was a paladin and torghast was completely crap.

I found Threads of Fate so tedious that I didn’t have any alts in s1. I did Torghast a few times in s1 both solo and with a couple of friends (I enjoyed it more with friends, that a good feature of it) but my covenant gear wasn’t great so from around level 4 it felt a bit tough so I figured I’d wait for better gear. But when I got the better gear (probably in Korthia) they had added the timer and scoring system (as well as the box of many grinds) and that ended any enthusiasm I had for the place.
