I would love that too!

Or a legendary Drake mount with lots of customization etc. We going to see there is more to come for DF!

Nope, the game doesn’t need Compulsory Content linked to player power.

It could do with something to fill the gap left by having no legendary questline or system. Something with moves up around the open world, but remains completely optional.

But borrowed power which is compulsory to do on every character. No.

Such a wierd way of looking at it. A tier long legendary is a good thing. Especially soemthing like the new evoker weapon it nzoth cloak. Both those types are good. Not all borrowed power is inherently bad

The Nzoth cloak was a horrible concept and should never be repeated. Corruption was a completely unnecessary system which forced players to do content they didn’t want to do simply to be able to play the game. It was actually worse than Torghast when it came to forced content.

Whilst there is a gap for some kind of system in the game. They absolutely cannot repeat the mistakes of these forced content systems and must have no relation to borrowed power.

The Evoker legendary is just like any other true legendary, such as Thunderfury, Waglaives or Sylvannas Bow.

I think you’re referring to essences where some if the BIS DPS ones came from pvp.

Corruption was fine once the vendor was added. It was fun to amp yourself up as much as it did.

No, essences were fairly optional if you weren’t interested in them. If you wanted to ignore the system you just stuck to the first 3 you came across.

To play 8.3 you needed to complete the quest line to unlock the cloak and the grind out your weekly Visions. Even if all you wanted was to simply remove the corruption on your items so you could play World of Warcraft without your armour trying to kill you.

And you had to do that every single one of your characters. It was the most horrendous and unfriendly system ever put into the game.

Whilst I’m not against a new system in WoW it should not have any attachment to player power and must remain 110% optional.

Mandatory player power grinds are garbage. They come from trivial content so they don’t feel like a reward, but like something you should already have.
Every minute you don’t, it feels bad, and once you have it it just feels like nothing.

Not asking for a borrowed power legendary if you played bfa the cloak was not a borrowed power legendary. I did not ask for shadowlands legendary so get the facts right please. Also corruptions could have worked if not for the gimmicky corruptions they added like infinity stars etc

It’s a nah from me, literally why? Takes up a slot permanently, feels aweful when you get that slot drop from m+ or weekly chest. Games designed around that, with player tuning based on having it. Screws you over if that slot falls in a good craft slot, take cloak for example and spore cloak.

And what benefit do you even get from it? A little bit of fun obtaining it maybe? It’s not a special item in the slightest everyone will have it. Another chore for alts etc. Just nope.

Yes I did play BFA, and yes the Cloak was a Borrowed Power legendary. You needed to have it to play the patch.

At a bare minimum you needed to complete the Cloak quest line on each character to have the ability remove corruption from the gear you collected. If you wanted to play Corruption you needed to grind Power for the cloak to balance out the “corruption” levels.

It was a terrible system and one of the worst ever implemented in the game, it’s good to see the back of it.

There is no need for any borrowed power items in the game anymore. By all means add an optional system players can enjoy on the side. But don’t force players to do it.

Uh well you could say that gear in game is borrowed power if you think that cloak is

I’d be ok with any such system if it had the following conditions:
Any assocciated activities (similar to Visions) would have no currency cost to enter, no timers / scoring (even defacto ones like sanity), no random schedule / spawn.
All Unlocks should be Account Wide.
All Questing should be skippable on alts with only the loss of the standard xp and gold quest rewards.
No Group content required, not even LFR nor killing rares. Flex grouping like Torghast would be good as long as it’s balanced well enough that soloing it is not a disadvantage.
It doesn’t requiring daily engagment. A couple of runs a week at most. Although it should be available to do for fun outside of whatever is required for earning the Legendary item.
No Renown / Currency gating. It should stand on its own two feet as an activity.
It must be actually fun in its own right.

I’ve probably set Bliz an impossible task with these conditions as they simply can’t add content that isn’t grinding a currency on all your alts.

The cloak itself wasn’t particularly powerful and so wouldn’t in ifself be classified as Borrowed Power.
But it was an essential component of the Corruption system which was Borrowed Power.
So the cloak is borrowed power by dint of being so heavily linked to Corruption.

i was thinking more the questline acquisition not mechanics specifically

BFA cloak? I can’t remember it at all! I remember the MoP cloak that was open to everyone.

Really no idea and played a lot of BFA m+

But it’s not. That cloak was borrowed power and their was a power grind to make it more powerful. That is borrowed power.

Ohhh that cloak!! Forgot it was a legendary. Didn’t mind that because it was real easy to do max difficulty in my gear and clear for full reward super fast (rogue too, so stealth) but I remember it being a bit meh for alts with that talent tree system too

Oh, so some kind of system and questline that is purely optional and doesn’t increase player power?

Sounds good, I’m in. It’s better than empty and pointless zones we have in Dragon flight.

As much as I didn’t like borrowed power, I had nothing against the systems themselves. I just didn’t like feeling like I had to do the systems if I just wanted to log in and do some M+.

Yes yes and yes to everything you just said exactly the same as pvp and pve right now currency can be used to purchase said items. Nothing gimmicky like infinity gushing etc percentage buffs to secondaries would be cool af felt like a super hero in season 4 with a haste build i had haha was sick
