Because there are people who just don’t like World of Warcraft, but continue to play anyway.
So they think every expansion is terrible. It’s normal for them to hate.

None of which are MMORPG’s so point stands!
Replacing them or not, it happens all the time sometimes that new higher-ups’ demands completely change the direction of the game. Whether it happens by replacing the staff or forcing them to develop stuff they don’t want, it doesn’t matter.
In the vast majority of the time, it makes the games worse (like Dead Space and Paper Mario: Sticker Star) than they would have been otherwise, but in Blizzard’s case, the dev team’s own decisions have been so awful for such a long time that… yeah.
Maybe it’s a little too much hopium, but we can’t really imagine the new leadership worse than the current one, so maybe they force down changes on the Blizzard staff’s throat that make the game healthier (and therefore also more profitable) in the long run.
Have you had an insider view of Dragonflight that noone else has? If so please share what is so terrible about it.
This forum needs eradicated of these stupid topics.
you dont have to play dragonflight if you dont like it.
FACTS! Now why’d you have to go and ruin a perfectly hilarious strop thread with facts!!
Depends what you define as portfolio. If you mean Microsoft as it’s self, then games isn’t exactly it’s strongest point. If you mean game library in the context of game studios it oversees and distributes licenses for…
Then its portfolio is excellent.
They don’t. They just saw the expansion reveal of a VERY early build and got it into their head that that is the end product.
This is why game development companies really ought to stop releasing “leaks” every lunch break, they forget they are dealing with the internet, never one to grab a stick by the wrong end and beat itself to a coma with it…
Happiness has the correct attitude.
I can’t comment on M+ as everyone knows how I view said content but recycling old content and crudely giving it a flaking coat of paint is not a good sign.
“I liked Spambot… But Grimrail depot…?”
I agree…
But you didn’t say MMORPGS you just said “games”
And just as the Headless Horseman has a Squintycat gif, so does a rather pathetic obsession with nappies has a Christopher Walken in an ornate head dress gif.
I prefer squinty cat, but I’m not going to gloat about how you don’t have the Headless Horseman’s mount just for it to appear. Just toss a flag at the troll and maybe it will have another long break.
You came to the right place, most players that are indifferent or have a more favorable view of the game, rarely if ever post on forums.
I always have the correct attitude
People who think that microsoft is going to magically fix whole actiblizz are in for a surprise …
even if they instantly replaced 100% of current staff, with some big brain devs, it would still take them 1-2 expansions to produce anything of worth, first tries would be just about figuring out what they want and what players want and trying to put it together …
Its same with the new narrative director … even if they hire someone super competent, they will either have to unschmuck the story line in a month before DF release, meaning it will suck no matter what, or they will simply take time and maybe fix the next expansion … you just dont fix stuff over night …
But… how you know it’s terrible if we know nothing about it?
people imagine when Microsoft come in and take over they are going to replace all the staff? T
Nope. But i do hope Hazikostas goes back to raid designe. He was very god at it.
Probably going to pre-order Dragonflight…
Anyhoo, apparently Microsoft are too busy secretly chipping people and/or making their blood magnetic (or some other batpoop conspiracy theory)… to get much involved in Dev work at WoW.
…unless of course, buying a Gamecard will allow Microsoft to control players through subliminal screen messaging. Making them woke, wear sparkly make-up and pink DMs!
Mwhahahaha…Mwahahahahahahhaa!
But i do hope Hazikostas goes back to raid designe. He was very god at it.
If Ion would be demoted in such a way, I’m pretty sure he’d leave the company.
Unless it was his own request and he kept his salary or something like that.
I like that i don’t have to get a legendary item. Which makes it easyer if you want to switch spec. Oh, and in this expansion, if you switch, you might also have to switch covenent. Plus if you make an alt, you don’t have to grind for legendaries again. I like that Dragonflight seems a bit more casual
The logistical nightmare…
But what makes you think DF will be terrible?
Yet another race locked class and increased level cap killed is what is keeping me wary of Dragonflight.
They had figured out a system they could stick with, with chromie time. Max level is 60, each expansion everyone above 50 gets set to 50. Rinse and repeat. This way only one expansion would need to be tuned (something which should be automatic no with scaling) rather than having to tune every other expansion once they start to scale above 50.
And Evokers or to call them more appropriately Dracthyr, has no reason to have their visage form restricted to yet more elves.
.it like dont you if dragonflight play to have dont You

Fair enough. For me that’s no dealbreaker in the least.
Legion had a race locked class, and that expansion for me ranks as the best.

To me that doesn’t sound fun at all. We can have another good 4 or so expansions before they’d need to think about a level squish again. And that would be in about 8 years, making WoW a 25 year old game by then. So yeah. New levels don’t concern me at all.
And Evokers or to call them more appropriately Dracthyr, has no reason to have their visage form restricted to yet more elves.
I personally just don’t really care because neither the race nor the class interests me.
I would have loved to see Tinkers (and honestly that’s just about the only class I’d be interested in), but yeah… Probably not the right theme for this expansion.
But again; the things you mention are not what makes an expansion good or bad for me.
