It is upsetting me how people who don’t play wow for many years now, make videos claiming that “it feels like doing chores” like Madseason, or Asmon. It’s so clear that they refer to BFA and Shadowlands and have 0 experience with Dragonflight.
I am in love with DF because there’s literally 0 mandatory chore that has to be done. Reputations, world content, it’s all cosmetic. Power progression comes from Dungeons, Raids, PVP. And it’s very alt-friendly, and a lot of things are account-wise, but old wow players still make videos and criticize wow for not being account-wide and alt-friendly. Very sad.
I had a blast in DF. Yeah, it has issues, don’t get me wrong. The storytelling was stale, dungeon locations were not unique and just landmarks from the map, hard metas with high entry barriers, crest farming, I get it. A lot of problems.
But.
For a semi-casual player like me, who can never go past 2000 IO, who loves to collect and be chill, who loves playing with 3-4 chars at the same time, this was an awesome expansion. Literally, I skipped WEEKS of gear progression, but I always found teams anyways because it’s alt-friendly, and there’s a lot of people to play together.
And it’s funny how people who were defending Shadowlands, saying that if blizz listened to playerbase, wow would immediately die. But in fact, looking at the sub numbers, DF didn’t heal wow, but stopped the bleeding for sure. Imagine they kept what was in Shadowlands and didn’t listen to players…
In conclusion, DF was a good expansion. Not perfect, but good. Totally worth its dollars.
