Dragonriding sucks - it should be called dragonfailing

To me this is the worst feature of this expansion, dragon riding is not fun, it’s a chore to actually travel anywhere as you invariably manage a couple of minutes flight followed by a couple of minutes sitting around waiting for vigor to recharge.

It wouldn’t be so bad if dragons could at least manage level flight, but no you have to actually be falling in order to not slow down and float gently down out of the sky.

These dragon are so weak that it feels like they’ve spent the last ten thousand years sitting around smoking and playing computer games.

and god forbid that anything taller than a blade of grass gets in your way, like say the giant mountain ranges that lie between each zone…

(and don’t tell me to git-gud, or that ‘all you have to do is…’, tose are the marks of someone with nothign useful to say)

Out of curiosity, did you grab any glyphs so far? Dragonriding without any of the talents can feel a bit underwhelming, but as soon as you spend points into upgrading it it gets a lot more fun.
This is one of those features where the gap between starting out and being “max level” is too wide. In the beginning it does feel like you cannot stay in the air for longer than a few metres and later on you only ever need to land when you want to pick a flower or mine some ore.

So, hate to leave you with an “all you have to do” answer, but putting talents into dragonriding will literally solve your problems…

It really will :smile_cat:

I’m also fairly sure that the dragonriding talent for gathering got buffed… I don’t remembering it being a 400% vigor gain after picking a herb, but it is now, and it generally puts an orb back to take off with.

Not that you should be landing with no orbs at all. When in doubt, circle a couple of times to regen before landing.

Liking this just because the tittle made me laugh silently. xD

I begin to Play Hearthstone slowly when WoW fails so much

Just installed SCII and Heroes again. Has been about 5-7 years ago i played them (SC Heart of the Swarm time). But WoW is not for me anymore.

This is my experience of it. Every time I try to fly more that 100 yards I find a mountain blocking my way.
If I want to go anywhere (even if it’s in the same zone I’m already in) I hearth and Flight Master to the nearest flight point and try flying from there.
Yesterday I tried to get to the World Boss but I just couldn’t. Don’t know if I was approaching from the wrong direction or I should be avoiding wind barriers or I’m just too rubbish at flying. meh, it’s a world boss so no biggy.

Saying that it’s better than no flying at all like we had in Revendreth.

This! So very much this, Once I’d worked out to get the glyphs, which was both fun and frustrating at the same time, Dragon flying at full specs is really good fun, to the point that I’d rather do that even if there is a flight path direct to where i want to go.

Also the number of rares, caches and even quests I’d missed before, which i found us brilliant

Rumour has it that Blizzard have set up a survey asking how much players would pay for a subscription for Hearthstone

Trollthread pls close. No one wants godmode hover flying back! Just make us dragonriding on all mounts and everywhere!! Cancel old flying, game needs to evolve to survive.

This sounds more like a Skill problem that a problem with the feature.

Thats right, I said it, you just need to Get Gud!

I can fly all over the place without stopping for visor.

There is def a knack to dragon flying… you need all your glyphs and you need to practice flying without losing vigor (the whole ‘point up, then whoosh down’ thing).
The only things that make me drop from lack of vigor now are if Im trying to land on a tiny target for a flag or node or if Im trying to look at the map and fly at the same time!

Yes this could be much better implemented, its a pain trying to check map and fly.

Mountains are acutally no problem. Flying at low speed is. If you constantly fly at max speed, your vigor recharges during flight (even while going up) and it recharges faster than you can spend it with “Surge foreward”. To get from one place to another, I usually don’t struggle with it. What still botheres me despite the buff is dragonriding + gathering. I’d need a double vigor recharge after every node for me to work out.

You get like 2 vigor if you gather smth, how you sruggle?

Nah, you get one… it’s enough to take off from the ground again, but not to surge foreward into the direction of the next node.

you can move the minimap now, if that helps?

Lol im half blind so i need the big one up

Still the quest log Map only takes up 1/4 of the screen Maximum. Plenty of space around to see where you are going.
